Anime Why some series are successful?

This questions popped in my head many times. What do you think?
Do you believe that if a series had a huge number of characters in a its story?
OR ... The style of drawing?
The plot of the story?
Its villains?

What do you believe??!?!

 

I think plot originality script are all the imprtant ones for me, but i'm far from a expert


BUT villians is another i really like, i h8 DBZ now because its ruined Vegeta he was cool at first kept his cool in the namec one until he was killed reborn and ended up sleeping with bulma ???


But villians yep i think they are very good part of animes, Gundam wing doesnt have any major villian from wha i've seen they all seem to redeem themselves?? And Tenchi Kagato was brilliant but after that i dunno. BUt i havnt seen film i heard kain is good

I first believed that villains made the series very interesting to watch, but In Magic Knight Rayearth .. I liked the series very much which had no villains

I love it when an anime makes me laugh. A heavy dose of weirdness can help, though some "try to hard" to be weird, like too many bands when they name themselves.

It also helps if it is deep, ie, if you have to think a lot. Great example, Eva.

It's cool when you don't know who the vilaain is. It's cool when you can identify with characters. It's cool if it has mroe than 10 frames a second. It is cool if it isn't aimed solely at kiddies.

It is cool if I can write an essay on it for a college German class and get an A *cough*Ranma*cough*.

Actually, I just wrote what made me like a series, not what makes it successful. Unfortunately not too many people are like me, so what I like doesn't mean it will succeed.

So, the real question: what makes it succesfull? In no particular order:
1: Marketing to american kiddies.
2: Being named something like *mon.
3: Having plots that move slow enough for all to comprehend them.
4: Having really ridiculously built people all over.
5: Big robots fighting, and things blowing up, and no parachutes coming out of the blown up mechas (I think Americans are so tired of stuff like GI Joe where a parachute always comes out, that they love any series that is more "real" and doesn't show chutes; even if the show stinks)
6: in the same line as the last factor - blood.
7: Having nudity.
8: Gunbunnies.

I agree to everything u said (espically blood)-I KNOW IM SICK-
but nudity is very offending to us (females)
and they are making women more and more (slutty) these days. for an example: Golden Boy and ....
The manga industry are making anime series for men (so what about us??)
I Love anime, but if they continued to purchase series that is full of nudity and other mature stuff they'll lose me as a costumer and other costumers as well...

Some Series are good for having no porn though, such as Lost Universe, Nadesico, Saber Marionette, the list goes on...

I would say DBZ, but you see people's asses way too much in that show!!

 

It's cool,funny, and has tonnes of action. It's one of the first subtitled anime I ever saw, it's pretty much what wanted me to get more anime.

Seraphim and I have gotten other people into anime by showing them SMJ, like my pal BakaMattSu for instance...

Here's a low down:
There was this emmigration vessel from earth called the Mesopotamia that had a tragic accident. Only six people survived, they were all male. The survivors ended up on a planet that they dubbed Teratoo. On this planet there was no way for them to reproduce(since they were all male) so they cloned themselves and created Female androids. A problem was that these androids had no sentience...they were just kinda plain...

Three hundred years later one of the clones, Otaru came into play. He ends up waking up three marionettes...(Marionettes are the female androids except with chips that make them act like human females), the marionettes are named Lime, Cherry and Bloodberry.

These three marionettes are extremely powerful, and throuhout SMJ they struggle to defeat the Geltland country.


The funny parts:
The three marionettes have devoted their love to Otaru. Although they can't all share him, can they? so they pretty much fight over Otaru in every episode...
Even more so, a guy named Hanagata loves Otaru also (hey, in a civilization where only males exist, you'd expect someone like this around). Hanagata is EXTREMELY annoying, although hillarious. especially how he gets beaten up every episode by the marionettes.


I'm probably missing some stuff...if anyone wants to add on feel free.

I dont know what to say but let me tell you this (yes i am telling ya a opinion off mine)

Look if a manga movie starts its must be not bloody ,yet in the movie there has to be action and love and action is my fav,

and at the end it must be not be a happy ending. The war isn't still won!!!

More action, more losses, more ROBOTS,more love, and lostbrotherloves,that kind off stuff, and look at streetfighter, a boy had an awesome power and nobody was still alive with the noledge of controlling that power.
the boy was training on his own and than he discovered a power, and he was born to defend the earth from aliens with the robotstuff, its so cool, freAky stuff must happen !! :G
