scrapped WIP... just done the bg scenery(sunset)

ive got a whole week left of my holidays and its very boring, so i decided to do a digi painting that would take me that long to finish... il try anyways..
well heres my work, ive only added the base colours for the piece.

1hr30mins so far. all in ps7

thats what i was gonna say before realizing he's in the water :sweat2: , water is evil, really difficult to paint (at least for me) :sweat2:

i came to realise that this wasnt good enough for a major work, soo i scrapped the guy and just did the bg. only took me 30 mins so dun expect anything special. :sweat2: .

Pretty fcuking amazing, thought I do have to agree with Chejo, those white lines + their reflection in the water is looking pretty off.
And where's the guy? Did he drown?

Nice work on the clouds, though realism isn't quite my taste... If people want something photorealistic, they rather take a photograph.
That's why art could evolve into the various styles we know today =P

 

yeah, mistake on the white lines, i got rid of the guy, looks stupid.
i find creating a realistic pieces more of a challenge to me. not that im saying other types are easy, but i can relate to realism more. though i dont keep the photorealism concept, simply because my style isnt all realism.

hey rainer i see your starting to work more on other types of art , very good i started working ons cenery and realistic stuff aswell.
good job on it so far its turnign out pretty nice.
Though heres soem of my crits , you might want to add soem more shadows to the clouds and define it more as you rpogress (i know its a wip so im just saiyng it )define the water abit more aswell ..
the lines ont he building i suppose are lights , no big deal just replace the white and dont make lines know what i mean just add it nicely and blend it into the building , you can use some brightness on ti aswell for it to be reflected on the water.
overall nice pic so far keep practicing on these type of scenes , i find i like them , stuff like scenery and cloudscapes and such .. its allso very good practice not just in terms of scenery but also the way you shade and bring out its colors and such..
very nice choice of colors , your defenetly improving (though i still say your characters need some work) but one thing at a time no?

lol. yeah, nearly on my first aniversary of learning to draw. XD.. you could say i was a late starter and i remember the first time i ever did a picture, omg it was sooooo crapp.
