Well, the biggest prize in football is only around the corner now. Competing in next year's competition is any country's pride, and I'm very pleased to see my country of birth England/b] making it to the finals.

Well, today was the World cup draw which will uncover who plays who in the 8 allocated groups in the competition. The draw results were as follows:

    GROUP A
    Germany
    Costa Rica
    Poland
    Ecuador

    GROUP B
    England
    Paraguay
    Trinidad & Tobago
    Sweden

    GROUP C
    Argentina
    Ivory Coast
    Serbia & Montenegro
    Holland

    GROUP D
    Mexico
    Iran
    Angola
    Portugal

    GROUP E
    Italy
    Ghana
    USA
    Czech Republic

    GROUP F
    Brazil
    Croatia
    Australia
    Japan

    GROUP G
    France
    Switzerland
    South Korea
    Togo

    GROUP H
    Spain
    Ukraine
    Tunisia
    Saudi Arabia

We see Japan unfortunately drawn with Brazil. But I'd expect Japan to claim the 2nd spot over Croatia and Australia

I would say Group C is the so-called "Group of Death".

Again, we see England and Sweden drawn together... it's fate isn't it? Mind you, under Swede mangaer Sven England havn't beaten Sweden yet. But anyhow, it's Shen vs Teddz all over again :p Looking forward to it.

The USA too have a pretty difficult group, drawing with Italy and Czech Republic.

So, let's have a vote... "IF" Brazil does not win next year's WC, who do you reckon will? It's a shame I have this question like that... the result is quite blatantly obvious tbh... but I'm trying to give other natins hope!

Let's bring on the World Cup!

I wouldn't say so. I just hope Argentina puts more umm (what's the good word for it? Oh) guts this time around.

Are we gonna have bets on the winners/loosers?

Well, Group C has been officially labelled as the "Group of Death". Rightly so, Argentina, Holland and Serbia & Montengro (previously known as Yugoslavia) are 3 fearsome sides.

Sure... we can have bets. A number of possible types of bets can be made to be honest. But for now, we'll stick to Tanuki's version - Country order after all 3 group games have been played. First being the winner of the group and the bottom being the wrose of the group.

It's gonna be fun ;) Zlatan will have his time with John Terry & Co. :D

I am going for Brazil though, as winners. Ronaldhino, Adriano, Kaka, Robinho, etc etc.

And they are meeting which team? Sweden ;)
