As some of you may know, CLAMP has not written any new installments of X for the past several months. I recently heard that not only has CLAMP done this, but they have also removed X from their list of things they were currently working on. Does anyone know if this is true? Someone, please tell me it's not!

Yes, CLAMP has removed X from their incomplete works list and has replaced it with... erm, something else that escapes me at the moment.

I reckon that they'll put X back up on their list though. I suppose they're just too preoccupied with crap like Tsubasa and XXXholic (cheers to all who like these 2 stories--I myself preferred X before they went into anorexic installments and then dwindled off into nothingness altogether) to bother with X.

The last X installment in Asuka was back in the May 2003 issue (released March 2003). That's practically a year ago. They have about enough to fill about half a tank. In a sense, I'm partially glad, because the style was getting more sloppier, with hints of their inking styles for XXXHolic and Tsubasa.
X is still listed as an "incomplete work", but it is no longer listed under the page for "updates."

    Ah, there it goes. ^_^

I was also beginning to be bothered by their change in artwork. The subtle Chobits influence (the way hands were drawn, the smoother angles of the characters' noses, etc.) of volumes 17 [and for the most part] 18 was sort of nice, but in their final installments of X before they fizzled out... what was going on there? It looked so sketchy and as you said, sloppy.

Still, they left us at a very cruel cliffhanger. :anger2:

I bought the January, March and April 2003 issues. When I looked at the art, I thought, "What the heck??" While I don't have the January issue anymore, when I look at the others, I just shake my head.
I think the art in volume 17 is still nice, but 18 is kinda not as good anymore. At least for the later half.

So it is true then. I was really that my source was wrong. Why, oh why, did they stop writing it at that exact moment? The series has been going on for 10 years! How could they leave it there? They could at least tell their fans when they're going to start writing X again. Now I'm depressed...
