    Hullo!

I've got a new (well, not new, but new as in most people haven't read it yet) manga for you all!

It's called Yakitate!! JaPan! (Freshly Made!! Japanese Bread!) If you couldn't figure out from the title, it's a manga about making BREAD! Basically, it all starts out with Azuma Kazuma leaving his little home in the country side to Tokyo. His dream is to make a bread *for* Japan, like they have French Bread. To make bread that is synonymous to Japan.

In Tokyo, he gets a job in a small shop called "Pantasia", where his excellent bread-making skills (though he knows nothing else of bread, other than to call it JaPan #xx, thought it may be a croissant) are put to the test.

Thus far, there has been five competitions. One for Kazuma to GET the job at Pantasia, a test for the boss at that particular Pantasia branch, a bake-off with the bread store across from them, and a major tournament in which Kazuma and his team are in the semi-finals as we speak.

This is actually a REALLY popular manga, as it's already been running for 11 volumes as this is posted, with 10 chapters per volume. The artwork is AMAZING, and the fact that it has true facts about bread (though some IS fictional) is fun. Especially when the manga *sometimes* provides directions on how to make certain bread.

Also, my avatar of "afro brother" actually comes from this series. ^_^

Included is a picture of Tsukino, one of the other main characters, and she also works at Pantasia. ^_^

PS: An anime is already in the works, as well! Just goes to show how popular a manga is about BAKING BREAD!

Forgot to mention, Brad Pitt is ALSO in this manga. His name isn't Brad Pitt per se. But his name IS Brad, and through speculation, it SHOULD be him. ^_^

Yeah, somewhat. But this one is just great. Baking tips at the end of the chapters!

Oh, any idea who's gonna license this?

Hopefully no one, Teddzy, I don't think I'd be able to stand it!!!

Then again...if the same group who did Kare Kano (minus the few mis-translations, however few they are) did it...I don't think I'd mind too much...just the waiting for the license-company translators to catch up to where I left off...

And, yes, I know that TokyoPop did Kare Kano, and yes, they did Getbackers. But, honestly, there's a difference in staffing on who's translating. Or, at least, the styles are. Kare Kano's translating's pretty good. Getbackers, however, is defintely not.

Currently, 11 volumes have been scanslated. However, information on WHO translated it will not be disclosed.

If you want it, please ask the question through private messaging. If the series has been licensed, buy the product instead.

I really love BRAD KID!!! I jump up ecstatic each time I see him! Jack of all trades, my BRAD!!! but my favourite character int eh manga is Kuroyanagi Ryou - his reactions to the bread he eats and his attitude are just wonderful.

I'm up to volume 7 now. Yukino is such a *****, I can't even believe what she did to Tsukino's mothers grave.

I thought it was a bit funny how whenever they showed Brad Kid he would have the same expression every time. Well, in chapter 52 anyways.
