Azuma Kikohiko's next manga (after Azumanga Daioh). A 6 to 7 year old girl, Yotsuba, called a weirdo by her own father, causing several big sweat drops to their neighbours.

She will win everybody's hearts ;)

    Yotsubato's page

Yotsuba remains a lot to Chiyo, but her hair is green and the character is completely different.

There are some scanlations of the manga in the net but that's easy to find.

I read about this manga while reading my schools libarys (!!!) new imported manga dictionary.

It looks very good, and it's true that she has a look of Chiyo, but hey, she rocks too ;)

I am looking forward to this manga :)

The thing that I mostly like either from Azumanga Daioh and Yotsubato, is the authors effort to express every possible feeling that the characters have with every imaginable facial expression. It's quite normal for the manga, but for the way they are drawn (in a very simple way) the author seem to say that she can do it without any elaborated character (in a way of minimalism?).

In Azumanga, the characters doesn't have colorful hair or strange colors for their eyes. Their hair is cut as many real japanese girls and also their eyes are either black or brown, something common around japanese people.

But that doesn't means that something strange, scary or funny wasn't going to happen.

Just to resurrect an old thread: I liked this manga a lot. Sadly, it did not appeal to me as much as Azumanga did. I did think it was hilarious, however, the humor looked just a little to forced or not done valiantly enough.

Again, in opposition to Azumanga Daioh, I found it lacking, but I did find the read to be funny.

Just...odd that the only conclusion everyone went to (that I remember) is that Yotsuba's wierd to EVERYONE. But, in the end, her new friend accepts her. And...that's it. Ah well, still, good for one of those non-brainy reads.
