This could be an interesting thread... Like it says, what was the first job you ever had, and also what was the worst? (Or one you disliked.)
Right now I'm working as a waitress at a senior care community's restaurant. It's my first job (other than babysitting), so I can't say I've had any horrible jobs. But I'm sure there's a lot of you who have...

Back when I was very small I had to work with my parents in the fields, so that means work in the hott sunny days with no shade and the work wasn't for kids thats for sure and plus my parents couldn't adfford a babysitter so thats why we always had to go and work with them. 2 years ago, I worked in a "green house" hott like a MO FO, and it was such a pain in the butt. Last was Working at KFC....damn, now that was the worse ever that I had ever worked at. I mean like the poeple were rude,co-workers were a bunch of lazyies, and the food keeped getting expired most of the time, but the only thing I got off that job was how to "multitask" a lot better ^_^

my first and worst go together. just got out of high school and was working in a bakery in a local grocery store with a couple friends. i loved working with them, but the general job sucked in an unholy way. as much as i love being sliced up by bread scones, not being properly trained in anything, not knowing how to answer the phone, prepare anything, or do much of anything. that and i'd come out filthy at night, and was getting paid diddly. (5.15 is minimum in ND) was also there late at night too.

jobs just don't suck when you don't know what you're doing, and no one will tell you how to do anything. XD

I don't think that I have ever worked in my entire life...

But who knows, now that I am in College, part-time job is important, for parties, manga/anime, computer stuff and...er...oh right. Books.

My first job was corn detassling. We have to go in these huge corn fields and pull out the tassles of every single corn stalk in a specific row. Most people you work with are stupid jerks, and most people you work for are the same way.. ya. There were hardly any jobs for youth to acquire in Chatham, and most jobs were acuired through nepotism, meaning parents knew the owners or relatives of places so they hired their kids and friends, and didn't hire those the kids didn't like. Harsh eh?

I'd say it was one of the worst too, but could be a lot of fun if good friends are on the crew. Things like rain storm, wet clothes, shoes, spiders, fungi, big bugs, big prickly bushes on your legs and mud, heat and stinky factory smells in some areas.

I disliked working at Jumbo Video. I was there for 3 months when they first opened. They hired 28 people! I heard there was a line of 300 people for interviews.. I only got 3 hours every 2 weeks. I have to to everything, clean the floors, make popcorn, input returns and people taking movies out, placing videos back on the shelves. Evey time I cam in there were 5 new promotions going on that needed new codes to input. At the end, I was laid off because I was told I was too slow!! ... -___-; sure.

The other job I disliked was Red Lobster. I was there for a month. I worked as some inbetweener from the kitchen and wait-staff. It was my job to take the cooked/fried/heated food from the cooks, place mashed potatoes, or greens, sauces, and display the plate so damn perfectly.. the major problem was the waiters and waitresses would come in and get mad if it didn't look 'right' to them. Because it meant bigger tippers for them. What I hated was the fact, we didn't pool tips, meaning the wait-staff got ALL the tips. So why yell at me about it? Then I'd have to stay til closing and I had to clean down everything and mop the floors. I was told to wear certain black shoes, and I had asked if I could wear my running shoes and they said no. I quit on grounds of, my feet hurt like hell and I couldn't catch the bus if I didn't get finished cleaning before the last bus, eh? Plus this restaurant would still take in people at 3 minutes to 9pm or 10pm.

The last job I didn't care much for was teaching grades 9 and 10 French Immersion Religion. I won't go much into detail there, but some of them, I have never met a more horrible and unpleasant group of adolescents in my entire life.

Nothing beat those days in the corn where the sun just shone brightly down upon you and you'd go on doing your normal routine when suddenly you grab a big ole juicy tassle, look at your hands and see bug guts all over them. The rows of corn we detasselled were also about a kilometre long, meaning I must have walked at least 15k or more in a day doing that job.

Now working in a rebate call-in centre is horrible. People are just crazy calling in about 2 dollar rebates that they were supposed to get 3 days ago. And the companies I worked for were stupid.. some of them didn't even pay the centre the money to hand out the rebates, so we got the brunt of the angry customers. All we could tell them was "you have to wait 2-3 more weeks to receive this", even though they called in every 3 weeks to hear the same thing. And we couldn't tell them that their precious Jacuzzi and other companies weren't dishing out the money to the center so we could make their rebates.

I was so horrible at that job.. this place would randomly mail out unqualified letters to people who sent in their rebate application, and when they called us in about the letters we had to tell them one thing, which ticked them off greatly: "you'll have to resubmit that with the photocopies you made before mailing it in the first time". But, I usually just gave them the money in hopes that I wasn't being monitored. So, NEVER DO A MAIL IN REBATE, YOU WON'T GET IT! And if you do and get an unqualified letter then keep calling in until you get someone like me who will just give it to you. If you do resubmit everything, it'll just keep those companies' money in there longer so it collects interest. ;)

My first job other then babysitting was at KFC. Sad thing is that I stayed there for like 3 years. The worest job was waitressing. I worked for 2 months. Probably why I didn't stay.

My first job is also the worst. The managers call it Front Service Clerk, I'm guessing it's supposed to be the profiessional name. The name as most of us know it as is "bagger". An enviroment where people are brown nosers to the costumers just so they see some money in their paychecks.

    Sadly, I still work there...T_T

Working on a dentist's office? Like you were building it or you actually were a dentist? I don't see how people couldn't like being dentists. You get to pull people's teeth... ^_^ He he he...

Me wonders, you've gotten prank calls or something like that ever?

My brother works front desk on a hotel, and he gets those, so i wanted to know. (I already know all about patients without pacience on the phone, and i hate them...)
