    I'm gonna say "DSL/CABLE 128KB~256KB", but amazingly the speed was limited to 25Kbps (once when the d/l first started, it went up to 300Kbps but dropped down in 3 seconds to 25Kbps!!).

    Damn company robbing us --;

    My connection is officially a DSL, likely 128-256K, but very often it is compared to a 23K Modem connection by others who share it (school network).

    I know it's cable, but I have no idea how fast it is. It's slowed down somewhat because I have to run it through a router, and it automatically firewalls me from everything.

    Torrents for example, I'm lucky to break 10kbps download speed. -.- Luckily I can connect directly once in awhile to speed things up a bit.

    I definately hit speeds over 512K... The problem is keeping the damn modem synched with the Cox' main server. >>;

    I downloaded Photoshop (a 200Mb) file in about 3 minutes, so that kinda tells you something.

    It's true, I have wittnesses!:p

    When I'm not behind my router, I've hit download speeds of over a meg a second.

    Seriously.

    It's really neat, I can download mp3's in seconds, images nearly instantly, and big files are easy prey :p

    The only problem is a full hard drive ;_;

    Ahh...if you were only limited by the size of 28 measle gigs, youd understand the value of a Megabyte...*sigh* :sweat2: :anime:

    But, most things we download are quick, but only programs...you dont see too much downloadin around here. Turn around for a second, and all the space may be gone!

    It was almost the same whether it was through my router or no, but according to that....

    Download Speed: 4829 kbps
    Upload Speed: 478 kbps

    Um, is that thing accurate? :sweat2:

    I tried that thing as well:

    Last Result:
    Download Speed: 201 kbps (25.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Upload Speed: 68 kbps (8.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

    Yup.. that's accurate, because thats what I get 25 KB/sec (whats the difference between 25 KB/sec and 25 Kbps??)

    I'm not entirely sure on the speed, but I do know that I have some form of DSL. Yay for wireless! I got one of the few rooms in this dorm that have a reliable connection.

    kiloBITS per seconds
    kiloBYTES per second

    1 byte = 8 bits, so... 200kbps / 8 = 25KBps which sounds alright
    I get 26.7KBps download and 13KBps upload
