You're *not* god's greatest gift to humanity; I don't care *how* smart you are

Bah, don't mind me, I just feel like letting off some steam here... feel free to turn right back around if "You know what really pisses me off?" - esque rants fry your nerves at all.

You know what really pisses me off? When people get so intelligent that they think the rules of tact don't apply to them anymore. I don't care if you *can* debate circles around me or like..hold the key to revolutionizing potato peelers, you don't have any more of a right to be a cocky asshole then Joe Schmoe down the street who needs a mnemonic device to remember his street address. Because you know something? It's a heck of a lot easier to be smart then it is to be nice.... now challenge yourself. A witty, sarcastic quip at somebody else's expense may gain you favor faster then an act of kindness, but it doesn't make it any less cruel. People feel less remorse when pouncing on an act of stupidity because they think to themselves, "Well this person deserves it, he probably couldn't navigate his head out of his *** with a handheld GPS", but have you ever stopped to think that maybe some people can't *help* their own stupidity?

I'm being a hypocrite, I know, we all do this from time to time... especially at a place like this. But (and you know who you are, although I'm not addressing anyone in particular at this point), there needs to be a point when you take a moment and step back to realign yourself. Just because you're well-endowed (and you damn well know it, too) intellectually doesn't give you the right to look down your nose at the rest of us.

In other news, my baby got his (her?) first boo-boo today.... I hope there's no scarring T_T I got cocky after catching a triple, so I thought I'd just chuck him/her/it in the air as high as I could and see how many rotations I could get.... not a smart move on my part. Sabers are made to withstand drops from people *way* more experienced then me, so it's not busted or anything, but I *did* ding it on the cement. I hope he/she/it's not in any pain ><

(Yes, my baby is a saber [saber = piece of colorguard equipment] ... what were *you* thinking? =P)

Meh, I've got a football game tomorrow night which I'm really not looking forward to.... I don't even see the point. Barely anybody comes on a Friday night (and they use our halftime show to go stuff their faces at the snack bar anyway), who's gonna come see us on a Thursday? And here's the icing on the cake... we're also hosting our first regiment competition Saturday, which means I need to be up bright n' early to sell programs for hours on end until it's time for us to perform and make our first impression on this year's competitors... even if we *do* work in shifts, does our band director actually expect us to be at our best if we've been on our feet all day and have had next-to-no rehearsal time?

At least there's the bus rides to look forward to <333
