I only saw the four that were on the net along with Final Flight of the Osiris. But I thought they were all very good. I loved the Second Renaissance and how it showed the robots point of view to the war and how it started, it was very moving. I really liked that they did CG in one of them, and although it was done by the people who did Final Fantasy: TSW, it wasn't the greatest CG I've seen...I think they could have done better with some of the motion but the detail was great. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't have done better.

WHAT? How could any of you have NOT absolutely friggin loved this??
That's what I get for being new to anime i guess :(
They were all mind-blowingly great!! ALL of them!! The CGI was so realistic in the first one (Osiris) that I had a very difficult time figuring out whether or not it was CGI. I finnally decided it was, at least to some extent.
The only less-then-friggin-spectacular one might have been Beyound. Still, it's a great idea! They were all great ideas!!

A Detective Story, to me, was the best episode on the DVD.

I liked the "Kids Story" the best. I think it ties with the movie. That kid who follows Neo around when they are in that only city.

    When I first saw it [NOW] I was so confused and didn't like it at all, I just figured that it contains 9 short episodes --;

I'll have to see it again to organize everything in my memory!!

I downloaded the Final Flight and part one of the Second Renaissance back when they first came out (WHen I had 56k). I finally got to see it all on the big screen at BAAF, then I bought the DVD. I think all of them are great, and can't really pick one from the nine. I could say beyond was my least favorite, but after watching it a couple of times, I ended having a better opinion of it. I watched all episode in Japanese, I gotta say, stick with the english version. The Extras on the DVDs were pretty good, the making of each animated short was interesting, and how they want to advertise Japanese animation (Anime) to mainstream with taht anime documentary...

I found it creepy. ^^;; But, of course, the disc I rented was scratched, so one of the stories was messed up (the last one, the one that made no sense whatsoever).

I LOVED Detective Story -- oooh, it was SO cool! ^_^ Second Renaissance (both parts) scared me half to death (they were spooky), Beyond was cool, Kid's Story was... interesting... World Record was creepy, Final Flight of the Osiris was good, and the lady and the dude on horses and then on the rooftop... I liked that one for some reason. (Program!! It was called Program! ...I think.)

    The art was pretty. ^_^

I don't think it was supposed to make sense. Honestly, I watched that one and thought perhaps the animators had taken a little "trip", if you know what I mean. I saw no real purpose to it other than to look wierd.

My favorite episode would have to be "Beyond", because it ties into the second movie, and the notion of program glitches. Absolutely beautiful.

It is awesome. I have it and watched it all the way until the end, even though I had homework to do ^^; . The stories were awesome. In their own way, they where better than the real version (to me that is). It does get annoying when the stories end and the credits roll (I fast forward through them). The music they play for the credits is eery, and yet, pretty neat sounding. It is constantly playing as a BGM (background music) in my head.

Matriculated (The last one that didn't make sense) didn't really ring with everyone, this my take on it. Its like how you feel if everything you known in your life; your girl/boy friend, parents, your best friends were just made up in your mind. Well think of it this way,

They tried to turn the machine into their ally, without reprograming it, in the end the robot ended up falling in love with that women, but the truth was it was all fake.

In my opinion it's just trying to put what our feelings might have been about the real world; that everything was just fake, a living lie, in the machine's perspective.

It was really good. Especially if you've seen the Matrix movies, (which I haven't) but I still liked it. It's so weird and mind blowing, go watch it! I hate to say that I forget the name, but my favorite was the one with the girl who lost her cat and went to that old house, and I do.

That was definitely a good one, topped only by Second Renaissance and Final Flight of the Osiris.

MATRICULATED WAS CRAP AND I DEMAND IT BE STRICKEN FROM MATRIX CONTINUITY.
