Manga and Anime Awards Anime/manga awards?

I could go on for ages

But back to topic. I don't we should have that much awards for the different animes. Let's just have 5 "major ones".

Best anime, Best Char, Best OST, Best movie and Best OAV. End of discussion.

 

With those Teddz. I would also like to see a Best New Anime of 2005. We could do it every year.

 

Best Action/romance/comedy. You should include the best of genres, the Awards on TV do. The funniest ones out there are usually not the "best" in terms of plot/character structure/ ect. They're designed to be humorus and a little off the wall. Apart from that Best Overall, Best Male Char, Best Female Char, Best OVA should fill the ranks nicely. You cant have an awards ceremony without the best Actor (Male Char) and Actress (Female Char), can you?

As far as Manga goes Best Action/Romance/Comedy/Male Char/Female Char/Art Work (it IS a comic book, right?)/ and Best Overall should round things out pretty well.


7 Manga and 7 Anime should provide for some nice rounded out voting and good competition.

I'd like to double check- Are we counting Anime that just came out this year or over all through the course of the years? And if it is anime/manga that came out this year do we count the Fan Sub release as when they came out or do we count the official licensed DVDs?

The whole point was that we'd only be nominating anime made in the current year, so that'd be redundant.

 

Ok, so it's been a while since I posted in this thread, which of course I apologise for.^^

So the problem with these awards was that there was too many. Indeed there was.

I made a new shorter list. Six Anime, and three Manga. Maybe it's short enough now?

-Best Anime Series
-Best Anime Movie
-Best Soundtrack
-Best Character
-Best OAV
-Best DUB

[Manga Section]
-Best Manga Series
-Best Manga Character
-Best Fanservice (<-Anime Contains Fanservice, but manga has more, a lot more!^^ Besides, if an Anime has Fanservice, then that anime had to had come from a Manga, so it's the same. Plus Manga needs categories!)

Hope these changes can be final. We're already in february, so I think it's preety safe to say that it'd be about a good time to start voting for last year's Anime and Manga.

Thanks. I get what you guys mean about overly doing it. 22 IS a lot. Especially with the activity of this site.

I'm thinking maybe, in the future, when this site grows (and it will!) we could do a lot more like the original then. But who knows?

I just hope this gets started, so this site can go on to being more active, or at least try.

A quick question of concern, what happens to the Anime that tie? Would both just win the award, or would we do a "re-poll"?

Also, once the Anime win the award, how would people be able to know? Like, for instance, how users have the little thing on their profile that says "Award".

Well there can be only one winner maybe have another poll.

I am thinking 2 things maybe if there is a forum for that anime have BJP 2006 Best Anime Award or something like that. Or have a list that drops down like the journals do on our task bar. It is up to BMS and Cloud though.

Maybe add in 2 more catergories. Like for Anime Best New Anime and Best New Manga. Something that came out that year.

 

I find it hard to see any need for more than this.

 

Two more never hurt . I'm not sure about adding OAV, but Best Dub is something that needs to be there, since there's a lot of us that watch Anime in both languages.

Hmm, a more 'professional' title that I would make is "Best Anime/Manga Debut". My idea for this though, is that awards be split now. It would start with "Awards", and have two sub categories:"User Awards", and "Anime/Manga Awards". But that's just a thought, it's up to them.

Does that mean in any language? Basically just the best anime released in '05overall? The only anime I can keep up with is that on Adult Swim, so I may have no idea what any of them are. :sweat2: Oh well, I like the idea as well.

 

Any language would mean that it started in Japanese as well. I guess that we count count both eastern (preety much Japan) debuts, and western as well in one category. It's all up to which had more popularity.

Sounds good to me. I used to run with AS way back when but there are still a few good animes on AS.

 

Not only AS, but count CN all on it's own, since it has both [AS] and Toonami. There's also other anime exclusive channels like Anime Network and the Funimation Channel. So there's lots of debut. But this can also mean how popular it was on it's DVD release.
