and like i said in the other thread you posted that in...THEY'RE NOT FIGHTING! they're just joking around with each other. they're actually friends, and don't mean what they say. so chill, drink an espresso, and sit down and catch your breath. It's not really fights they're having, it's jokes. Sorry, if you take it the wrong way, but it's not meant to be taken seriously. Actually I hate _meow_ and want to stick her in a cheese grater and laugh at her pain. Yes Tascha, I'm joking. Feels good to be back , my internet's been down for only about three days and already there are 7 or 8 new posts on this forum alone oO. Anyway, we might as well head back on topic lest we'll end up with a warning or a guillotine. Does that even make the slightest bit of sense? The show would be perfect without her because she doesn't have a tragic, horrific past? And you never know, we don't recieve any information about her father. He could've died some gory death as well, but maybe we aren't given details so Kagome's past will hold interest and end up being a major factor later in the series. Who knows what'll happen? Anyway, care to elaborate on how the show would be perfect without her?
Personally, I think it's nice to have a non-angsting main character. XD If the series had some angst-laden "woe is meeee, I'm so tragic" protagonist, well... It wouldn't be Rumiko Takahashi's style, for one, but it would also be a lot more irritating. I've said before that I'm not overly fond of Kagome, but the fact is that she really isn't all that bad. Female leads tend to be either loved or hated, as a general rule (Hitomi from Esca, Tohru from FruBa, Anzu from YGO, Kasumi from Pocket Monsters, Lavie from Last Exile, Miaka from FY...) - I guess because the girls who watch anime either identify with them or not, and there isn't much space in between. But Kagome could be a lot more irritating than she is, and I think she'd be much worse if she had some super-tragic past. Same if she was removed and someone overly angsty took her place. The thing is, since Kagome doesn't have any major issues besides those presented by her connection to the Shikon Jewel, Kikyo, and the feudal era, there isn't anything to detract from the series events. Isn't it enough that Kagome is the reincarnation of a now-undead priestess, entrusted with an incredibly powerful and dangerous object, and stuck between two worlds? I think that's enough issues for anyone. XD Add in the soap-opera love problems, and, well... @_@
if kagome wasnt so happy and complained more (something like what dilandau said) with her horrible dubbed voice, her complaining would bring hell on earth :anime: the only thing i dont like about kagome is the dubbed voice
Yea, her dubbed voice is really annoying...though most are. i Only like Miroku's voice (AHH! VAN FANEL!) cause yea, he played Van Fanel from Escaflowne, and he actaully did a pretty good job. Oh, and his voice is nice to listen too *sighs*. the person that plays Kagome is at least very friendly in person (if that makes it any better). She actually watches the show a bit as well, unlike the dude that plays IY who doesn't watch the show that much so when he's asked to do quotes he'll say in IY's voice "i'm in love with that Kouga...so can i go out for a smoke?". and the guy that plays Sessh!!! he didn't even know how Sessh looked like!!! that still angers me to this day, hmph! *storms off*

Okay, this thread really has fulfilled its purpose, and a lot of it (joking or not) got a bit too much like a flame war for my liking. There are other threads in the forum debating the merits and flaws of different characters, including Kagome. Use the search feature to find said threads.
