Manga Battle Royale Manga?

@_@ REALLY VIOLENT AND HORRIBLE(Refers to the evil government)! GORY GORE! It's interesting, I wonder who will win in the end. JUst read the first volume. :sweat:

 

If this was a normal manga the outcome would be somewhat predictable. But it's not. If it was, you know more than one person would get out alive. Judging by the storyline so far it might end up with one person alive. The chances of them overcoming the govrnment are small. Especially since some people are already playing.

 

Did you see the movie yet? I haven't read the whole manga yet, so I don't know if the endings are the same.

 

I haven't seen the movie. But somehow I feel that's a good thing.

 

Anyone who liked the movie and/or manga should read Koushun Takami's novel Battle Royale. It's around 600 pages long, but very easy to get into and hard to stop reading. It's one of the best books I've read lately, despite parts where the translation is a little shaky.

I haven't seen the movie, and I don't know if the novel came before the film or vice versa, but the manga is pretty much the graphic novel version of the book from what I can tell.

 

I hear the movie and the manga are pretty much the same except for the teacher person that leads the whole Battle Royale 'game'.

femme_fatale, I'm with you completely. I've glimpsed at the manga, watched the movie, and read the book. I'd have to say that the book is the best. If you have the copy next to you, look between Shuya and Noriko... The red space is a gun o_o From what I gather, The order goes book > movie > manga. The movie Battle Royale is actually based off a book, which is even better and more disturbing. There are translated versions of it on Amazon if anyone is interested.

The sequel (movie) is coming out soon in Japan. Battle Royale 2 features the guy who survives the first movie, who is now a terrorist. They start up the Battle Royale program again and send all of the kids to kill this survivor.

And if anyone is looking for anything as crazy or more crazy than Battle Royale, I suggest you check out Takeshi Miike's movies, which are even more violent and disturbing by far. Definitely the craziest in Japan right now.

 

Battle Royale is... a good movie.. though.. way too much blood n' gore... enjoyed some parts of it.
