Just what the heck is Blue? There's Blue Seed, Blue Gender, and a thousand other "blue" things in anime. What is "blue" suposed to mean, besides a pretty color and the name for a very depressed emotion?
    Anybody?

Well, in Blue Seed, the seeds are blue. That's that explanation. They just are. Everything else, I don't know, 'cuz I haven't seen it. Hope that helps somewhat.

    200th post! :D

Blue Gender relates to the beasties of the series, the Blues.

That at least makes sense... Perfect Blue, for example, has nothing to do with anything Blue nor Perfect that I can see.

And just why are they called blue? That's a weird name. For that matter, what does Gender refere to?
Of course, 90% of translated Japanese anime titles don't make much sense, but I've heard the word blue overused.

And then there's Kageyama Hironobu's song Aoi Kaze no Hope (Blue Wind of Hope). Apparently, this phrase appears in some other Japanese song too, but I can't remember the title and artist.

Well... Blue is a color... it is the opposite of red and is very soothing to look at.

    DURRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!

Really... Blue just sounds cool in the name.

Is blue like Japan's favorite color? What's wrong with the dozen or so other basic colors? I thought maybe the word had a double meaning we're unaware of.

Wow am I the only one who remembers purple, black, white, brown, green, and orange?
I just didn't bother to count and it felt like a dozen so that's what I said.
And then there's rainbow, and poka-dot, and striped...

Heheheh, actually Jet_Black thought you were referring to the 3 primary colors when you said the word "basic."

My social studies teacher said that blue is indeed the most popular color in America. I dunno about Japan.

Speaking of anime titles with the word blue in them, how about... "Nadia: Secret of the Blue Water," and "Blue Sonnet," and.......... "La Blue Girl"?

Well, I saw only Blue Seeds, so I guess its called that since the seeds are blue? But then again, why didn't they pick another color? Hmm, maybe it refers to the sadness or whatever it refers to as well..

This question really grabbed my attention though..

    Haha, nice!!

The Blue Gundam *was* actually blue, too, as I recall, so the title made sense. :)

What about Blue Sonnet, what's that all about?
