Anime Blue?

When thinking of Blue in a lot of anime titles (or in all things Japanese, for that matter) Aoi (Blue) isn't the same blue we're all used to in other parts of the world. A green light (at stoplights, of course) is called Aoi, using the same kanji, this is because Aoi is actually more of a blue-green.
To go a little further in the origin of this puzzling issue I'll turn to classic Japanese, Aoi (still the same character) was used for a wide variety of colors encompassing all of the cool spectrum of colors, including clear. The kanji for the verb 'to clear up' as the sky would involves the kanji for blue as a radical. All of these things add an additional depth to some of these titles.

What I primarily wanted to say with this is that Aoi does have the implication of clear or all cool colors and the emotions therein when used, however faint, it's there.
