But they don't HAVE to send each other to eternal suffering do they? they can duel for FUN.

There's only one anime that I can think of off the top of my head that has any chance in hell of ever coming to pass and that would be Ghost in the Shell. With advances in cybernetics and information data structure, along with our continual blurring of the line between man and machine I wouldn't be surprised if we would be living in a future similar to Masamune Shirow's vision fifty to 100 years down the road.

Wait, I lied. There's another that I feel could have been real- Grave of the Fireflies.

Most everything else is too far fetched, too off the wall, too gooney or in a completetly different world all together. Kenshin and Champloo, while fun and badass, probably aren't too historically accurate. I can see the afore mentioned titles more readily than those other ones.

Well maybe maybe not. Depends how lazy humanity becomes down the road. I can see Yu-Gi-Oh happening in 5-10 years, if humanity wanted it to be. GITS, it's a maybe, like the point I made earlier. If we actually DID develop robots like that, we'd only use them for war, which wouldn't be good.

 

Ghost in the Shell is entirely possible, given that the origional movie was based on the director's views on modern technology. IGPX is also possible, but very unlikely (I've been working on a phsysics model of a Mech for a while, and I've gotten nowhere), and as I said before, alchemy is also possible, just not as streamlined or cool-looking as in the show. And Homonculi are already possible, with artificial intelligence. We can already grow artificial organs, we just need a simple computer to control them.

 

The gundam series might be possible in like 50 to 100 years. Heck maybe even less. Yu Yu Hakusho isn't though.

 

Nah, I don't think we'll see guys shooting energy beams from their fingers anytime soon. Does anyone think that NeoPets could be possible?

Don't they have some for the psp and other game consoles.

With YGO there is that who shadow thing. It could always be an illusion. It would be cool though. We could hook something up so when you lost some life points you would hurt.

 

I think considerably more than that. If nothing else because Wing happens in After Colony 195, and it's still Before Colony now.

 

well whatever the weather, i stand by my self (maybe) when saying ghost in the Shell WILL become reality, eventually at least

 

They have a game out for PS2, yeah. It's terrible, trust me. but seriously, do you think that they could genetically create creatures like NeoPets? I think it's possible in the future, possibly even the near future with all this Stem Cell stuff going on. You never know what a talented team of scientists can do with DNA. It's crazy.

 

I've only watched a little of the series so anything about the Colony.......I have no idea on. Tenchi Muyo would be nice. Not possible, but nice.
