Video Games Dance Dance Revolution

yaaaaaaaaaaaay! good news! im getting a solid dance mat for christmas so i cant break it! i can take my old one 2 my nannas for my ps1 :anime:

 

Dance Dance Revolution [DDR]

I just want to know who really likes DDR, just to see if I'm the only one or something.

 

Its a sweet game. I cant say i play it that often but i do have it for PlayStation. Its better in the Arcade though. Tis funny, last time i went to an arcade with my friends there was a DDR contest. Sometimes its more fun to watch the people who are really good at it and get all into it. *puts on dancing shoes8 *steps on DDR* *starts to dance* *trips and looses game* ~_~;;

 

I have the arcade version at home which we got broken from an old arcade for like 300, a real steal.
Unfortunately i only get like pop songs and stuff but some fun ones, so no funky japanese music.

and some other weird ones including dare i say it nsync! ahh i said it! must kick my self now!!!

 

Hmm, I have the Playstation 2 version, and here are some of the songs I like on that game:
"End of the Century"
"Hysteria" [but it's really hard, so I stick to beginner if I even try..]
"Dream a Dream" [Currently stuck in my head..]
"Twilight Zone"
Yeah, and here are some I've always liked, but aren't on Playstation 2.. [They're at arcades and other places..]
"Butterfly"
"Bumble Bee"
"Da Dariam" [I don't remember, but it's by "Joga"]

Yeah, those are the ones I usually play. ^^ I just got DDR like a week ago, so I'm not that great at it, but I stick to "Light" because "Standard" is WAY too hard for me...

 

I do not see what is so great about this game.

 

It's awesome. Don't doubt my judgement.


My favorite song right now is Vanity Angel. Just 'cause I can beat it. That and Kakumei, which I can't yet beat. On Heavy, that is.

Another question: how good are you all? And how long have you been playing?


Edit: Well, roughly an hour after posting this, I beat Kakumei....now I can beat the majority of the songs on Max 2 on heavy. I beat Burning Heat today, which was a milestone, 'cause for all its pokemon-ness, it's uber-hard.

 

I played it a few times. I thought it was just moronic. I mean COME ON, how interesting can a d-pad game be.

 

psh, they just made a new type of DDR, I saw it at the arcade. It's not really DDR, it has really BAD songs [I just wanted to pull out the wires! The songs just played over and over again!] And instead of the arrows making a + thing, like up down and side to side, its like x!

It's not 'new', it's called Pump..it's been around for a while....

But DDR is better.

And god...I'm listening to the DDR song 'WITCH DOCTOR (GIANTS TOONS VERSION) by CARTOONS....someone help me...if you haven't heard this song...wow.....


Anyways, there's this online program called stepmania that allows you to play ddr and pump on your computer...I don't have a link right now. Bad thing is, to get song you have to dl them from somewhere else...I'd give that link, but it's a forum. If you want it, PM me...or something.

 

Ive been playing for about a year, and am pretty good, unless im trying to talk at the same time, or i listen to something else that lets me not feel the rythym, but you cant beat your sister pushing you off the game.

 

God, i hate timers too! >< I dont always play so well, it has to be a good day. XD And on some days i have my sis do one of the arrows for meh e.e;; but ussually only for the hard songs.

Can you do heavy?

'Cause I've been playing for a short two months, and have put an insane amount of training into it...I can do all songs on Max 2 on heavy other than Xenon, Maxx Unlimited, and So Deep.

I'm so obsessed....

 

I love DDR! I mostly trying playing on the real metal ones at arcades, BUT, as you all know, there is always a very long line. The PS2 mats always slip! And you don't have as many songs at first... the big ones have lots of J-Pop songs.

I can do up to light, and one of my favorite songs is "Will I" which I liked before I knew it was on DDR2... and also Break Down, Butterfly, Neverending Story remix, Dream a Dream, and most of the techno/trance songs.

The first time me and my friend played, I ripped her toenail off with my sandal and there was blood everywhere. People laughed... ^^;;

I think "Pump" (or "Pump it up?") is Korean, isn't it?

 

Yeah, the one we have is kind of old school, but im on heavy right now. But im far from a perfect score like a bunch of my friends *losers*. I have my own arcade game at home that we got from an arcade that closed for 1,500, which was a pretty good deal. Other than its sort of falling apart its great.
