So, now having seen J and JAgain, I'm still curious about Xi'an and Romana...

What's your guess on how the countries are?
(Obviously one's China, and the other's Romania)
I'm on the thought that Xi'an is very similar to Japones, and that Romana is old castles and such...what are you thinking?

For Romana, watch SMR, it's set in Romana, and don't get any ideas about there being the original characters in it, they're there, but they are all somewhat different. (not just physically)

Apparently another one I've got to add to my "How do you say...?" thread, huh?

Xi'an is pronounced (in Chinese fashion) Shy-ann...so, I'm guessing subtitlers had a fun time with this one...I'm expecting:

    seian
    shyan

    (or as mine say...Shi'han?)

But, as the X in J to X implies, it is correctly spelled "Xi'an"...

So they are one and the same...

BakaMattSU, *!wheeze!* out of... *!puff!*... breath....

I've also heard tha name J to X or J2X implying about female cloning as in XX (female chromosom)

If u watch tha J2X Opening Type II u will see an X that splits to 2 X's implyin about cloning.

But i have also heard it means Japoness to Xi'an?

    Just sumthin i heard anyway

Hey, that an interesting one, too... I personally side with the J to X (Japones to Xi'an theory)...but the double XX seems to work as well...Hey, with a J2x, it may have 2 meanings...

BakaMattSu, really annoyed when he searches on engines for "j2x" and gets sites for "Jimmy 2 times"...whatever that is...

Geez, here I am correcting myself...It's pronounced "She-On" I think...?

BakaMattSu, not good at pronouncing X's, Z's, or other strange letters...

    So is it "She-en" then?

So, if this is what the 2 X's mean, then what does the J mean. Does it have to do with Lorelei's past or something?...because the double X would have to do with her.

Well, Japanese I'm pretty sure is a phonetic language (words are spelled like they sound...), but X makes a "sh"-sound, i an "ee", a an "ah" and n "neh", so "Shee-Ahn" would be my best guess...

BakaMattSu, he better drag out those tapes and listen really hard, ne?

Yeah, it probably does mean Japones. and I think that Japoness to Xi'An makes the most sense to me.

I thought it was shee-ahn.. anyway, double meaning most likely. I bet cloning is a part of it, just the whole reintroduction of the female thing, BUT j2x definately has something to do with Japoness to Xian, just like Saber Marionette R happened in Romana

SMN would be cool, or would that be SMNT?

That's where it doesn't follow suit... wasn't SMN {or SMNT) really JAgain?

BakaMattSu, "SMNT? Saber Marionette Ninja Turtles?"

Yes, it really was Saber Marionette J Again. I was referring to a hypothetical Saber Marionette New Texas, in a contrary to fact sense- "would that be cool or what?" So, all the ones we know of do fit the pattern, SMR, SMJ, SMJ2X (unless you discount the little known SMZ) Well, all the anime's follow the pattern.

I dunno....hmmm...maybe the pattern was getting a little too predictable...I mean, you look at Z thinking of the others and go..."Z, which country was that again?"...

In actuality, SMNT could probably have worked...in fact, I believe that there was some kind of fanfic titled that...

BakaMattSu, or maybe it was a Microsoft Product...Windows SMNT?

Yeah, Z throws it. Unless I'm off it was a sequel of sorts to SMR. Still, the rest do follow the pattern. Too predictable? Isn't that what makes it a pattern? [IMG] So, I'm still for Japoness to Xian as one meaning of the title.

Man I need to read previous posts closer; I didn't even see yours. So I guess i have to commend you on preempting my phonetic masterpiece.

    Phonics are fun!

(Yup, Z picks up quite some time after R)

BakaMattSu, spouting randomness - time for a new SM topic... [IMG]

Well,in ep. 14,they do go to Xi'an,and they spend much of the rest of the series folderoling about in Xi'an,so the "Japoness to Xi'an" theory does seem to make sense...
