My favs in no particular order:

    Orange Range
    Sato Hiromi
    Sorimachi Takashi
    Toshiro Matsuda
    Asian Kung Fu Generation
    Shinohara Tomoe (ULTRA RELAX!!!!!)
    KinKi Kids
    Zamfire
Utada Hikaru (Has 'First Love' and its piano Instrumental on one separate playlist to listen to over and over again)
Gackt ('To Feel the Fire' is my favorite song)
    Dragon Ash
Ayumi Hamasaki (But for some reason I just can't stand listening to 'Dearest')

Recently added to my list, FLOW.

BTW, does anyone know the names of the singers that did the songs from "Wind~ A Breath of Heart" and "Mizuiro"? Because I still can't read the ending credits since they're in kanji.

TM Revolution reminds me of a Japanese Michel Jackson. Oh and my favorites are Asian Kung Fu Generation and The Pillows.

I prefer J-pop to J-rock, J-rock seems to get too ... pretentious or something somtimes. I like some solo male artists and boy bands, which is funny, I mostly hate that kind of artist from the west. No, i cant stant n*sync or Westlife, but I like W-inds, Frame (sorry Flame) and stupid bands like that ^_- Totally manufactured band like Run & GUn have done good songs too. I think there is some quality songs there, and I love the way they cant dance, or even sing sometimes, its so kawaii.

I like male solo artists Kotani Kin'ya and Sakanoue Yousuke better though. famous from Gravitation of course ^_^

I don't seem to like japanese girl singers that much.

My favorite artists are Okui Masami, myco, and Ishida Yoko. I don't know if it counts, but I like Hayashibara Megumi too. I used to be obsessed with Hamasaki Ayumi and Utada Hikaru, but my obsession died pretty fast. I don’t like many J-pop artists (or any artists) in general.

Same here. My experience with Japanese music is rather limited, though. The third place artist would have to be Asian Kung-Fu Generation, despite the fact that I've only heard one of their songs.
