I've only heard about FFI and FFII coming out for Playstation as remakes... Though there is a Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced coming out for GBA... doubt it'll be as good as the playstation one, of course... character designs I saw didn't look as impressive as the original FFT. Though as long as they keep the class-change system, I'm definitely going to play it... and even if they don't I'll play it.

Favourites in order from most favourite to least favourite.

    9,7,6,8,Tactics,4, 5

If 7 was remade with PS2 Graphics, it would be absolutely amazing.....

What I would like to see though, is FF6 remade in 3-D glory. It would be a huge project, but it would be so amazing.

My favorite Final Fantasy game for the PSX is Final Fantasy VII. It was my very first RPG, and it's also the RPG I've played the most times through and spent the most time on. Excellent music, graphics (for its time), characters (overall), and I like the storyline. If there's a prequel/sequel for it like it's rumored, I will be very happy if squaresoft (er, squarenix?) does a good job with it.

I'm near the end of Kingdom Hearts right now (I'm about 26 hours through), and I think that it was a totally CRAPPY idea for the Final Fantasy characters to be there. They have virtually no point in the plot - they could have been replaced with any new original characters and the game would remain virtually unchanged. The same thing *might* be said about the Disney aspect of the game, but I would disagree with that - it's not just the Disney characters that make an appearance, but the Disney universe, which is an integral part to throughout the entire game (I loved flying around in Neverland!).

Now for my opinions on the other "Final Fantasy" games.

Ehrgeiz was a fun fighting game - I had discovered it in the arcades and then rented it. The FF aspect was cool, especially casting meteor with Cloud. It's really difficult for me, though, to compare a fighting game to an RPG (though there was that dungeon-type game thing in Ehrgeiz, but I didn't go to deep into that).

FF X was also VERY fun, and in my opinion has one of the best cast of main characters. None of them at any time got really annoying for me (I absolutely love Wakka and Lulu!!). The battle system was also a nice change, since there was no lag at all between giving character commands and action, unlike FF VIII and IX (I found FF VII's response to be relatively more quick). Blitzball was fun (once I got a good team - 70 straight wins, baby!)

Arkanjil - FF IX may have been cliche, and on some aspects I agree with your opinions. However, I heartily disagree with your opinion on the game itself (which is perfectly fine). I had a lot of fun playing FF IX, though some of the characters were just bad (Amarant or Quina, anybody?), and there was ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR THAT FINAL BOSS!!!!! HE MADE ME WANT TO BREAK THE FREAKIN' DISC FOR HIS POINTLESSNESS!!! I would say that overall the game was too easy, and the "Is the will this strong?" message of the game is being WAY TOO OVERUSED IN RPGs. However, I loved Vivi, and Kuja I think is one of the best developed villains in any of the Final Fantasy games. The card game wasn't as fun as FF VIII's, and I also like the system with learning abilities with the armor.

I need to give FF VIII a second chance. I didn't like it too much playing it through, since the pace of the game was very different, though there were some great gaming moments. I want to play it again sometime, now that I know what to expect. Triple Triad was fun (until I got the Random Rule), and I want to give props to the music though, which was AWESOME.

FF VI - the first half of this game was awesome. The last "half," after you-know-what-happens (and if you don't, go play the game), it's just wandering around gathering your buddies and . . . nothing really happens. Boring. Kefka wasn't that great of a villain (haha, I'm evil, try and stop me!). Overall, an entertaining game.

    FF V - haven't played it, and I don't know if I ever will.

FF IV (from FF Chronicles)- nice, simply RPG. I had to level up WAY TOO MUCH though at some points in the game (like right before the end boss . . .I spent at least six hours just leveling up so I could beat him). Because of this supremely annoying factor, it ranks low on the list.

FF VII, VIII, and IX can all easily be obtained used (or as a Greatest Hits, for VII and VIII) at videogame stores like Gamestop or Electronics Boutique. I'm sure they can be found on Ebay or somewhere else on the internet too. FF VII and VIII are also available for the PC.

FF V and VI are readily available as Final Fantasy Anthology, which can also be obtained at the above said places.

FF IV comes with Final Fantasy Chronicles, which can be obtained at the above said places.

If you're looking for the cart versons of the games, like FF I, IV (which was released as FF II), and VI (which was released as FF III), you just have to look for them, or you can probably get them as ROMS from some ROM site (which I could not give you since I don't condone nor use ROMS).

FF I and II will be coming out in the US for the Playstation next year, however!! Now they just need to bring out FF III . . .

    didnt any one like ff9?
i though it was really good, ok i guess the characters looked pretty crap and short, but i thought the gameplay made up for it, the movement was smooth, and there was a lot of weapons and stuff, so, yeah. i liked ff9.
