-Always maintain a fair amount of health aiding items for emergencies.

-Don't rely on your strongest character alone when fighting a tough opponent.. Fight as a team.. Use the abilities of your comrade to ensure victory.

-Try to level up all your characters evenly, if possible
    - Stay away from the Tonberys...

-Do not allways use the same team, round the characters and get a balanced group overall.
-try to stand on lvl 70 or up at the end of every FF game

Do-Always check the kinds of cratures that are in the area!
Do (check above)- If they're st your level, or a bit weaker, try to get some training there.
Do-Keep you levels high, you don't know when a big boss may come and kick the ever living you-know-what out of you!

Dont (check first Do)- Go into that area, you will most likely get killed!

That's all i could think of for now....

Actually, I'm chronically underlevelled. I went up against Chaos at level 25! (The guides all suggest 30 or higher) Anyway, at low levels...

    -Do use strategy to win
    -Don't rely on brute force
-Do be sure to heal often
    -Don't get overconfident

    And, above all,

    -Don't underestimate your opponents.
    -Do the opposite. (Overestimate them)

By overestimating, expecting the opponents to be stronger than they are, you ensure that you will be capable of dealing with them when you encounter them.

Do play RPGs that aren't FF so you don't get caught in mindless fan-wankery.

The FF franchise will annihilate any franchise out there, reason... because it's better. LOL.

Oh... ALWAYS do the sidequests, otherwise you just aren't getting the full FF experience, not to mention you're missing out on awesome items.

I find having plenty of money stashed away is always important, you don't want to be short when buying your equipment. Don't skimp on the good stuff, always have the best equipment and and the most of any items or what you can get anyway.

Equip weapons, armor, accessories that permit effective attack, healing, curing status effects ect. Be prepared.

Sometimes the the best offense is deffense, don't underestimate this.

Always assume your enemies are stronger than you are, that they may have an arsenal of tricks bigger and better than yours.

This has been said, but it needs stressing lol, train hard and often and lvl up XD

Actually leveling up in FF8 is probably the worst thing you can do.

I heard level 8 is the best level to be at when you fight the last boss.

Another don't: play X-2. :p "Dress me up Princess" is the same thing, but more entertaining. :p:D

lvl 8...how does one stay at lvl 8?

I know, I own FFX and I really couldn't get through it, not because it was hard but because it was almost boring. I think it lost something, something that FFVII had...yeah it's my favorite. So I can't imagine what X-2 would be like -_-

Do- save after ever three hours you play FF. It is the most frustrating thing when you played for 3 hours without saving and then something happens that erases all of that.

Don't- use a strategy guide to get through the game...as you see it will destroy all the fun and puzzling things. You can use it to find certain items and get certain things that take a whole process to get.
