Square Enix For Those Who Hate Ff7!

personally i really didnt like the game, and i hated sephiroth, kinda hated it all in general, maybe im just really cuntlickingly old school and dont like the 3-D games as much...*mmm 8-16 bit glory*

 

I dont hate the game.. I injoyed it.. But it Just bugs me that some ppl think that its the greatist thing to ever walk the face of the earth...

I again here must agree with Kame. FF7 was a cool game, its why I bought a PSX, but it's not the best game ever. Tifa was pretty awesome tho. I also must confess I have a wall scroll of Cloud in my room, and I dressed as him(poorly) for a local cosplay event.

 

BTW Berry, I hate you. That was a long time ago, I needed the money....

I happen to think Final Fantasy VII is the best game ever. You don't? Fine. BE AN IDIOT! ahem. That is to say, you are entitled to your opinion. It was the first Final Fantasy that I played, I think it was the first that was released in this country, and I thought it kicked all kinds off *** from the first time I played it.

 

Drunk, i respect your opinion as i do all others, i just happen to have a severe disliking for the game, as do others, i understand that it was your first FF and it is special to you.

Heh, I loved FF7. Excellent game, despite the typical Final Fantasy rail-roaded path which I despise (I prefer freedom ala Baldur's Gate or Morrowind).

 

I have at least played ALL the FF games some. I'd have to say 3 is actually my least favorite.

 

I don't like FFVII much. I prefer VIII and X more.

 

i agree, i like the old school final fantasy's then the new ones, i'm playing ff2 (origins) right now and i think its fun. although FF7 was a great game it still can't compare with the 18-32bit SNES or NES games like FF1 to FF6 that includes all the NES and game boy FF's too.

Final Fantasy 7 is my very first Final Fantasy so I'm attached to it. But then again, once I played another game, I had another favorite. And then another favorite. So I changed favorites often. But as far as FF7 goes, (to me) it's the best one I played so far. I haven't played anything below 6 but i have played 6-10 and I loved them all, but 7 was different in a sentimental sort of way. It confused me but yet I understood it. It got me into the RPG world. Though, through the days I sat and watched my brother play it, I thought to myself (bah- this game is soooo stupid. I doubt I'll ever play it and like it.) I tried it and was instantly hooked. But then, once I read the articles about FF8, this is what I thought. "Hmph, FF8? Nothing could EVER beat FF7. I probably won't even WANT to play it. Probably'll suck." I played it...loved it...new favorite. Sorry, getting waaaaaaay off of topic. But everyone's opinion is important I agree. I love the game, but I'll agree that it's not the best game to ever grace the planet. There will be others, maybe better ones. But as for now, to me, FF7 is the greatest.

well we can hate it because most of us are old school 16 bit graphic loving, pros. and we have noticed the decline in the story in the latest installments in this series, i love all things touched by square, but this one is the..special child.

 

Well, we can like it because not all of us are elitist tossers with brooms shoved right up our arses. Personaly, I am, but not in relation to final fantasy games. You are not a pro. Pro gamers game to make money. You do not. I think the story is actualy very good. better than say FFI or FFV anyway(I think it's better than VI or IV also, but it's much closer). I also think the materia system is the best system in any of the games.
It's perfectly fine for you to dislike the game, but that does not make you better than people who like it. Thinking it does actualy makes you worse.

 

so true drunk. so true. i applaud you, as i could not have said it better. i loved the material deal. it was the best. and i think 7 had characters you could get into really well. hell, i wont be afraid to admit it. i cried when a certain sword of a evil bad guy went thru aeris. i say a certain sword, because i cant remember what it was called

 

Awhaaaaaa?You liked 8 more than 7.First of all:

-FF8's plot was so shallow the cover was just Rinoa and Squall hugging.
-The growth in levels is only 1000exp in EVERY level,thus a mere 99000 EXP is needed to reach LV100,I remember FF7's LV 100 requirement being somewhere in the millions!
-Battle system-crap-Patheticaly easy
-Junction system=a cheat.It is possible,by the end of Disc One to have about Six thousand HP for your entire junctioned party(ridiculous)
-Squalls "Lionhart" takes off about 250,000 every time.



Anyway,I agree with DL and happen to think FF7 is the greatest game ever.8 (for the above reasons is crap) and I have'nt played X.

While I admit that FF6 was my favourite and the first one I played(okay I never played through all of 7), I don't see how you can hate 7 but like all the ones previously. I mean story wise from 6 onward there are far more complex and detailed plots when compared to 1-5. But essentially if you put the grapchics asside 6 and 7 and about equal in every other way I can think. Sounds like nit picking to me.

Although I have fond memories of the FF series I think the formula has gotten very stale and boring these days. I'm struggling to find interest in FFX. Although of the characters in it are a welcome change from what has become cookie cutter Square characters *glares at Sepheroth*
