    This is an anime remake of the classic, "The Count of Monte Cristo". It's set in the future, the animation is quite unique and there are creative story changes.

    Albert and Franz meet a mysterious Count during the Luna Festival. One night Albert gets caught by bandits and Franz asks for the aid of the Count. The Count helps them, and asks Albert for a favor: An introduction into the Paris High Society. The Count, who seems inhuman, has plans of revenge in his heart.

    The music for this animation is very interesting as well and there's a little intro in french at the beginning of each episode. I don't want to spoil anything, but for someone who already knows the story like me, the anime still is very fresh, new and entertaining.

    It's the first Count of Monte Cristo adaptation which makes me feel the true character of the count... I love it >_<!

    This one sort of confused me, at first. The designs are very freaky, it's like the characters glow x_o;;

    It's currently on my watch list, I can't wait to find out more.

    I've got to say that the story is interesting, I want to know what happens next.
    I'm just wondering, if anyone get slightly annoyed of the static patterns they use for the clothes, hair, etc? (When characters move, you realize that these patterns a fixed, they don't move with the character)

    Either I got used to it in the 2nd and 3rd episodes, or the amount of static patterns was less. I'm going with the latter, because remember, the first episode, Albert and Franz were at a Carnival.

    I kinda like how they did the animation. Very original and interesting. :)
    Man ~ this anime makes me want to read the book. (for the millionth time XD)

    Anime episode 1 and 2 spoilers

    Was is the characters gender? Is she/he a she or a he?

    wha? I always assumed Peppo was/is a girl. Is there umm a reason to not think that though?

    After count rescues Albert... and they have lunch/dinner together
    His friend tells him that they have to return home. Albert says that he has plans of his own.... etc....
    Count asks Albert: Have you made a promise of some kind?
    Albert blushes
    The the Count says: Love is a wonderful thing. Hoever you might have not noticed it yet. perhaps ..... whisper int Albert ear

    and then Albert blurts out the words BOY!

    I don't understand what that means...

    Peppo is a boy. They say it in episode three as well.
    Great stuff though.
    Everything about the count is great. :3
    His looks, expressions... wow. Well animated. ^_-

    No spoilers... but episode six has some awesome scenes. I've been anxiously waiting for them ;] SO much fun! Wee! ;D

    Best series ever! (imho)

    I'd like to know more about the Count, and if this series is going to end the way the novel or the movie ended. Tragic ending, or happy one... Anyways I was playing with the ending sequence, and I saw this SPOILER PICTURE!
    I was a bit...er... to be exact.... SURPRIZED! *SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON* SO HANDSOME! X.x

    I hope it ends like the book... because the ending of the movie was too much altered that it sucked.
    Why, oh why did they make it that Albert was his son.. and he'd get back together with mercedes. >_>; Not every story has to have a happy ending.. but I think the ending in the book was the best. =3

    Episode 5 HAS SO MANY SCENES with the count looking so wonderful. Cute~~~ :3

    Episode 6. Spoilers.

    These latest episodes with the 'Do you love your fiancé(e)?' theme is very interesting. I found the introduction of "Albert who has never loved anything fighting a man who has loved" to be a bit off, I know they meant 'a woman' though.

    Albert I find to be a man full of happiness, very naive yet full of love. He is innocent of course. I find Eugénie, his fiancée, to be tender and open with Albert at times, but only when they are alone or can be. At the Opera House I find it very sad to see the girls hanging out with their friends apart from their guys.. I guess when they get married, they HAVE to be with their husbands, so they decide not to do it yet.

    Haydée was sooo amazingly beautiful in episode 6 at the opera house! But her reaction to seeing General Morcerf was very shocking. I wonder who she was to him.

    and Baron Danglars.. I mean. Sounds like a familiar pig from the Count's past, doesn't he? ;)

    Well, during the time which Monte Cristo is taking place, they don't have to be with their husbands if they attend any social occasion. Usually, they can go under the escort of any respectable man or with a party of friends.
    Eugénie was just with a party of friends. And (if I'm not mistaken), I don't think that their engagement was officially announced. (Just like an understanding between the two families that they would marry each other) In that circumstance, they wouldn't be seen to sit with each other really. Or if they were officially, it doesn't necessarily mean that they can't be with each other. So, what I'm trying to say is that they don't have to be with their husbands.

    I think the way they animated Haydee's reaction was great! (I kinda imagined it the same way.) And the scene with Danglers. Woah. I couldn't have imagined his reaction better than that. The cool suave Count against the shocked Danglers when the Count mentioned the amount he needed. xD
    Really, really looking forward to the next couple of episodes. The Count has started his revenge~~ *glee*

    *GAW DROP....! * STUNNING! SHe's sooo pretty! Her dress is so elegant, no wonder everybody is just looking at her. What did General Morcef possible have done to her. *GLARES at Morcef*

    This anime ROCKS! I'm looking forward to the next episodes as well! Wow! I'm speechless at the moment.

    This anime was licensed. At the moment I'm not sure by whom, but I'm hoping a good company...o.0
