Getbackers GetBackers

Had myself a GetBackers marathon a few weeks back, from the first episode all the way to episode 28 (I think). To call it nice is too much of an understatement. ^_^

I have to admit that it dragged at parts (I detest filler episodes! >_<) but the whole Mugenjou arc made it all worthwhile. And the characters... the only word that fits to describe them is cool! I love their designs — and their abilities, while sometimes not unique, were given such a spin that made it seem like something new.

I usually am partial to anime that have a single overriding theme. GetBackers doesn't have that. That's the only reason why it's not among my top favourites. The fights more than made up for it, though.

I do have one comment: Kazuki should have been born a girl. ^_^

Now, let's play "name your favourite GetBackers character"!

I based my decision on the character's "coolness". In order:

1. Akabane Kurodo (He's so coolly evil! I especially like the touch about him not knowing his full strength. ^_^)
2. Emishi Haruki (His "Dancing Whip of Rouran" is one of the coolest looking techniques of any anime. I also like his personality, not to mention his nom ge guerre, "Bloody Joker". ^_^)
3. Takuma Fudo (There's something that can be said for mindless insanity. Fudo's power is also so unique and simple — but is potentially one of the deadliest. His fighting skill is nothing to sneeze at, either. ^_^)

well....i hope they would start a second series or OVA because the show ROCKS!!!!
and if you are finding the last king of the four kings.....i heard that his name was Cruz Masaki or something like that and i've finished watching the show.
and my favorite episode is when Ginji got admitted in hospital and LOTS of funny things happen :anime:

1) Midow Ban
2) Fuchoin Kazuki

4) Akabane Kuroudo
5) Shido (Sid)
6) Makubex

And of course, my favourite character is...Akabane Kurodo aka Dr. Jackal... he's kawaii evil and I Think his voice is really sexy ;P(good work Seiyuu-sama )

I was wondering what Raiten was... then I remember that is pronounced like liaten= lighting = Thunder Emporer! I'd agree! =^.^= ban looks so cute with his hair down.

 

Ginji as a thunder emperor definitely rox(expression of his eyes, and his clothes are cool, but normal Ginji is really one simple-minded dumb 'Oh, It's a state of liberty with ice cream' hehehe Yup, Ginji, we all love U :*)
But, i'm prefering Ban with his 'normal' hairs (crew-cut hairstyle), don't like him with hair down...;P

well at the moment i have only seen first 6 i think
anyway i went on tokyopop and learned all the manga aren't released yet so if the manga came first you know the seris should continue

I've seen a whole bunch of different random episodes and well I *love* Akabane...Yeah he's creepy, but he's my favorite character. I just ordered the DVDs so they should be coming in soo, I want to see the rest XD
