I so despise sad endings. I need some anime's with happy complete endings.

RahXephon has a happy ending, but lots of bad stuff happens between that ending and episode 1.

Azumanga Daioh has a happy ending too.

Then there's Evangelion, Love Hina, Onegai Teacher, Onegai Twins, Golden Boy, Battle Programmer: SHIRASE, Ranma 1/2, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, Battle Athletes TV, Oh! My Goddes the Movie, etc etc.

It kinda depends which ending of it you watch and how you define 'happy ending'. I would never consider the End of Evangelion movie to be a happy ending (or a complete one) but the series one...

Can't really think of any at the moment...

I dunno, the television ending was extremely happy to me. Considering how the rest of the series went. Maybe a lot of people didn't see it that way because a lot of the series I mentioned has really sad parts. But I think that just makes the ending all the happier.

Oh, and one that I DID forget was Angelic Layer.

Oh, and I don't believe in End of Evangelion to be the true ending. Liked the TV one more. ^_^

Neon Genesis Evangelion (and I view The End of Evangelion as a more proper endign) and Wolf's Rain have happy endings? 0_0 Is there something wierd about me, or devastation/destruction of the world accompanied by the death of many/all main characters isn't what people normally call a "happy ending"? And especially Wolf's Rain final message...
    There is no paradise.

As about still unnamed anime that end happily...

Tenchi Muyo! Universe, Tenchi Muyo! movies (all three of them), .hack/SIGN, .hack/SIGN: The Legend of Fabvious .hackers (2nd season of .hack/SIGN), Gunsmith Cats, Nightwarriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge, Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution, Record of the Lodoss War (both OVA and TV series), The Visions of Escaflowne, Full Metal Panic, Louie the Rune Soldier, Ninja Scroll (TV series only! The movie doesn't end especially happily), Last Exile... Hmmm... The Mystery of Necronomicon has a happy ending too, although the rest of the series are dark, cruel, bloodly and extremly violent. Anyway, that's all I can think of right now.

In regards to Eva and Wolf's Rain

Eva, everyone received their inner desires. Shinji's was to be alone, but then he realized he didn't want to be alone anymore. No one is dead, just elsewhere. Anyways it depends on how you understood the End of Eva. With Wolf's Rain, of course there wasn't a paradise for the wolves... but maybe it's how I interpreted the ending it looked like everyone just reset or had a better life. In RahXephon, everything was reset as well and made right.

Chobits, Card Captor Sakura, Rurouni Kenshin(if we only include the tv series)..DN.Angel (in a way)
    I may think up more..

I don’t really want to to trun this thread Neon Genesis Evangelion and Wolf’s Rain discussion thread, so I have made another thread regarding the endings of these animated series. Here it is: Discussion: The endings of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Wolf’s Rain (Major Spoilers!)

    P.S.

Marcos 2, Macros 7 and Nausica of the Vally of Wind also had more or less happy endings, although all three of them weren’t without a hint of sadness.

    Slayers Next and Slayers Try had happy endings (Try was somewhat bittersweet, but happy nonetheless), and Princess Nine had an emotional-happy ending (emotional not meaning sad in this case). And Saber Marionette J, which I think was mentioned above. Regarding the first Slayers series, I haven't seen it so I don't know. ^^;;

The series of Evangelion had a sort of happy ending to it. But i think i should look over it again cause i kind of got lost in it.

Love Hina had a happy ending to it, though i think th at the manga had a happier ending.
I think Nedesico had a happy ending in the way the Akito and Yurika got together.
R.O.D. (the ova), had a happy'ish ending to it. I thought that it ended on a good note even after the state Miss Deep was in.

And Izzy what happened to you picture of Kay? :(

EDIT: Also Blue Gender ended on a happy note, but to get to that point you have to go through all that blood shed.

Kei? From Dirty Pair? Oh, changed it, of course. Got bored of it. Maybe I'll put it on again, some other time.

Anyway, Nadesico's kinda odd that way. The series is humorous even in its most serious moments, so it's kinda always a happy ending. Even the movie, with all its seriousness, got me chuckling through a fair bit of it.

And Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure had a happy ending too. Actually, a really happy one.

Gundam Seed had a pretty upbeat ending, as did GTO.

Asking for anime with happy endings is just asking to have the endings spoiled for you. Though if you are asking I guess you don't care.

    *spoilers below, duh*

RahXephon and Lain both did, though they took the asy way out: *reset everything so it's like all the bad stuff never happened* Kinda lame, though I enjoyed it anyway. For another cop out happy ending, see SMJ

    *****SPOILER ALERT*****

The ending to Witch Hunter Robin is a bit like that. I mean, things changed in the end completely, everything was different, but in the last episode as the end we see things go on as usual, just a typical day, and a new recruit coming in just like had happened in the first episode. Thought that was really neat. Even though the fate of Amon and Robin are left up to faith, I thought it was a bit of a happy ending, especially the way Michael makes it seem, seeming really optimistic.

    *****END SPOILERS******

You consider Saber Marionette J to have a happy ending? I think it's rather sad.
I cried at the end of both J and the sequel J to X.

    I mean,
They had to sacrifice their lives.
How can you consider that happy?

    And,
They died. I mean sure, they came back as humans, but the fact of the matter is, they died. They were... blown... to... I can't even finish it because it's too painful to think about.

Can you really consider those endings good?

Note: the following post is about SMJ only as I haven't seen the end of j2x (horror)

    Sure, we all thought
that they had to sacrifice their lives.
but you seem to be forgetting the last few minutes of episode 25 where
they come back in an escape pod looking thing.
, and the scenes after the credits rolled. Partial script:
Hanagata: Otaru! Loverboy's here! Cherry: Ew, it's you, you troublemaker! Lime: Hi Hannie! Go home! Hanagata: ACK! I thought you became one with the stars!!
Thus my comment about it being a happy ending, and a cop out. Watch it again if you need to.

yes indeed MO a cop out.. lol. that's why i thought Wolf's Rain was happy.. can't people just die? but then I'd be very pissed off.. I was when I watched X the movie. I felt frustrated and ready to kill a small animal.

MamiyaOtaru, you have an interesting point. But I still think of the ending as sad. Because they spend two episodes making it emotional and heart-breaking. Even though it all works out, it still feels sad at the end. And that "cop-out" end? You can't imagine the relief I felt.

What are you talking about? They came back in the Japonesgar!
