Gundam Gundam seed

Ummm, there was a thread based on this subject some time ago, but its disappeared now, so...well....whos watched/watching this series and what do you think of it? I am aware that this series is a copy of one of the earlier Gundam series but do post your messages/thougjts here. I've watched the first 25 episodes out of the 52 made and I really do find it good, partly because I havn't watched the earlier Gundam series (I think its Z Gundam or something)

 

Gundam SEED started off good, but now I'm really not liking it...



Firstly... I never liked the character designs, they all look the same.

Secondly... The MS designs at first weren't shabby, but the Aquatic MS look terrible, and some of the new Gundams look pretty lame too.


Thirdly...WHY IS HARO PINK?!?!?

Zeta Gundam is indeed the best Gundam series.

It's been a while now... I have progressed with this Gundam series and I am sure many of you people out there have too. So after a few months I just wanted to know what you guys think of it so far. I've watched up to episode 38 and like all the previous episodes, I wasn't disappointed. Instead I am increasingly addicted to it. Partly because the mechandise put me into hysteria and secondly I havn't laid my eyes upon G Gundam (or is it Z Gundam) before so everything is new and fresh to me...

Gundam Seed earns my approval and recommendation for those mecha lovers.

If anyone wants to know the details of some episodes or what will happen in the future episodes and enjoy spoilers then I will kindly assist.

SEED is great, it turns epic at around ep35. Eps 1-25 weren't as good as the others imo

 

I reckon episode 29-30 made the biggest impact. You know, when ***SPOILERS*** Asuran's and Kira's 'friends' died.

 

Got bad news for people who have been watching Fansubs for SEED, the series has been officially licensed by Bandai. The announcement was made at Otakon. They also advised fansubbers to stay away from the upcoming SEED sequel, for it will be licensed immediately upon release.

 

Well im screwed then...i've watched up to episode 44 of the fansubs....and im addicted...and i beleive its closer to Mobile Suit Gundam (the first series)...and i swear im moving to Japan....cause it takes too many years for anime to get to the US...and that just upsets me...i mean the best stuff is being released in Japan and we have reruns and old stuff that aint any good

 

Does anybody know if Gundam SEED will be released in the US?

 

Yes, Gundam Seed has been officially licensed for the u.s. Which means it'll be way harder to get the last 4 or 5 episodes, since some fansubbers won't go near something that's been licensed.
No idea when it's been released, and whether or not Zeta will be released before it.

 

Ive currently seen up to episode 41, so here are some opinions

I saw the fact that Kira and Kagari were siblings coming a mile away.

Spoiler: The New Gundams

Raider Gundam looks pretty silly, and Forbidden is a tad unusual, but stil Forbidden Gundam is pretty cool in compat. Sadly it is a Deathschythe knockoff but still a very very good one. As for Calamity Gundam.... it's been done. Still the drug use by those three pilot's and its effects are quite amusing. Although half the time Shanni doesn't even seem to be affected (that is he still couldn't care less.

Spoiler: Dominion

I like the colour choices for the Dominion very much, and the fact that Natarle is it's new captain is going to make things good. I really really really like Natarle nearly as much as Yzak/Isaac. So i'm glad she's back to add another dimension to the conflict.

 

Haro is pink because he is in a differnt universe all the the UC haros are green.

it will because Zeta has already been lisencesed for a year and Bandia already has a plan for releasing it but I think that they will take less time for SEED then they did with Zeta

 

In fact Lacus Klein (pink hair girl) has many haros of different colours. Though the pink is the one she sticks to most.

 

Mabye because Asuran designed that Haro to be more like Laclaus? It does seem alot more like her than the others.

 

Athrun probably made that Haro pink because it was her favourite colour or something. And does it really make that much impact what colour it is?

Personally I love Gundam Seed, and am currently at episode 28. The one thing I don't like about it is it's constant use of summary episode's. There's been three or four so far. Even the aquatic suit's aren't to bad in this series. In all fairness though, no gundam series has had nice looking aquatic suit's.

Can't wait to see the newer gundam's in operation, and to find out what the story with Kluuze and Raw is.

 

Hmm most of the Aquatic suits aren't that to snazzy, but I do like the Z'Gok from the original series and especially the Hy'Gogg from 0080, those two designs are boss.

 

episode 29 is when the story starts shifting... it was the turning point and from that point onwards it gets better. The previous ones were just, chase...escape...friend or foe? chase...escape... you know what I mean.

 

Your right, i'm up to episode 36 at the moment, and I love it even more now then I used to. It's gotten a lot better since episode 29. I'd say more but I'd have to put it in spoiler brackets and i'm way to lazy at the moment. :glazed:

Maybe some other time, when the show has finished maybe.

 

It's over

Well well well, Gundam Seed has finished airing and I've just finished watching it... though the series has been great and the best gundam I've ever seen the last episode was quite rushed and too much happened in a short space of time... still a good but rather 'unconvincing' ending. So my final verdict...

'The series started off rather nervously with a slow storyline and a not-so-very-well-done character build up. The battles were mere hit and run on the whole... though visually impressive, it was on a thin line... As the story progressed to the half way mark, in fact the 29th episode, the story begins to shift and from then onwards, more or less every episode has been frantic, breath-taking, and exciting both in story and fights. By this time character personalities has been firmly established. However, the series also sees off several deceased main and sub characters which personally had a huge blow on me... but it was expected.'

My final scores:
(Out of 10)

Story: 8
Characters: 9
Music: 9 and 1/2
Animation: 10
Action: 10
Love Story: 7
Mecha models: 9 (mainly because of the gundams )
Overall: 9

Recommended to: people who likes Gundam or mecha. Advantage given to those who havn't seen the earlier series (I think Z Gundam) which is said to have similar storyline, you guys (like me) will enjoy it more.

Currently waiting for episode 44 to finish downloading. I'll hopefully be finished the series by next week, and i'll hold of on giving a view of the series till then. So far I have enjoyed it.

Unfortunately I saw the part in your sig about Mwu before I saw the warning. Damn you, now I'm dreading the last episode.
