    Game: Form of entertainment; interactive.
    Anime: Form of entertainment; noninteractive.

THAT'S IT. THAT is your huge difference. Like it or not, anime IS just a cartoon, only from Japan. Any crap you can find in Western cartoons, you can find in Anime. Even in Japan anime is considered for kids and teens.

Don't assume I wouldn't understand something. Ever. I think you don't understand it yourself, else you wouldn't hesitate.

If you like realistic-looking games, then go out and play football or something instead of sitting in front of your computer complaining about how something's "too cartoony." -.- Video games won't likely ever be as realistic as real life.

Also, quote tags work like this: [quote=Name of person][/quote] :)

Game designers can make games as realistic as they want with the right technology. And WOW isn't cartoony at all.

I believe that in 30 years, our home consoles will be capable of looking, working, and interacting exactly like real life. At that time it's all up to the style of the things in the game and how much effort developers put into it, but the consoles will be capable of it. At the same time, the handheld units will probably have the capabilities of the next generation consoles of today.

Controllers in the future will incorporate new technologies, too. The next generation consoles of today are already using wireless technologies on the standard controller. For example, there has been a lot of talk about the Nintendo Revolution's controller and how it will be able to work with all the games of the past and the games for the Revolution itself. I believe that controllers in the future will incorporate the Nintendo DS's touch screen, not necessarily to draw lines, but because it is a touch sensitive screen, the screen can have a certain arrangement of buttons that you can press. When the game requires another arrangement of buttons, the screen will change and you will have the arrangement you need. It will have that and the normal assortment of analag stick, shoulder buttons, and control pads.

My conclusion: Games in the future will be awesome! :D

Realism is always an interesting thing to discuss. Sometimes you get fanatics who think everything should be totally real. Then there are those (like me) who fight against über realism in the name of fun gameplay. Of course some say that to them, realism is fun..

Ignoring gameplay mechanics, I think realistic graphics are cool. Not for everything of course, but for a lot of stuff. They can obviously make pretty good looking cars now. I wonder how long it will be before character models land in the uncanny valley.

Well as I read all your opinions and remarks I think myself, I am happy many people have different ideas about games etc That is a reason for gamedesigners and stuff like that to make different games, from realistic onces to cartoon-style onces. I for example just love cartoons, I just cant lie about that :p but I also like to play a realistic game. I just want them to look good, the cartoon must be a real cartoon for me and the realistic game must be realistic enough to play it without getting irritated. As said before, people want more and more and are getting used to the quick evolution of games. But the annoying about that is when you bought your newest computer, there is already another one in make, a better one, and the newest and bestest games will be made for that computer. ofcourse I may overreact a bit, but that is sort of the way how it goes. (and then I sell the "older" version to get the newest one)
