Cowboy Bebop How would you have done it?

Nobody give away the ending here OK.
The ending they did was perfect they couldn't have done it better, it felt like the only way bebop could end.

Only thing that slightly ruined it was the mess Bandai made of the DVD for the last scene.

The best way to end a series is to kill of its main character. First I couldn't accept it, but later i was convinced thats its the best way to have ended this great anime. If spike survived the fight against Vicious, what will happen to him. I believe that Spike will practically kill himself, because he was living for one purpose which is for Julia but now she is gone. So why not join her in paradise. That made me appreciate the ending !!

 

He'd of become leader of the syndicate and lead them towards a more peaceful future, that would've been kinda cool too.

 

But after Julia dies, all purpose of Spike living on (even for a greater cause) dies with her..

Anyway Toomaa About Spike Living for Julia.. thats not true.. Spike thought Julia Was dead at the begining of the series. ether it was dead or she was out of his life for good.. And he went on living. But because Julia Died at the hands of Vicious. Spike had to end the fight. And He ended up dieing at the end. But the fight with spike and vicious was the intire point of the anime anyway so how else could you have ended it without it being stupid...

She didn't exactly die at the hands Vicious, a guy from the syndicate was the one who shot her. I get your point though.

From what i remember Spike wasn't sure if she was dead or not at the start of the series.

 

I like that point by *_ToOmaA_* whats the purpose of spike living if his only love died. Man What i said ending, i never thought it would turn out like that

 

I dont think is was a sad ending.. but sort of like a Wow now spike can rest in peace.. When Julia died Spike had to finish his fight with Vicious once and for all.. and it was good he died because well then you would be left wondering what happens next..

I agree with alot of you all. But I do think it could have given us a little more on Faye and Jet after Spike left, but not after he died.

I think if Spike would have survived, he would have had to live an empty life, spending years wishing that things had been diffrent, that Julia was still with him.
Death is the end. and the end is alright.

 

The ending was perfect. Spike was destined to die, it was happening from the first episode. I don't see other ways how the series could have ended with as much of a "Bang" as it did(gedit?). Also, Blue was a brilliant outro song, and Spike's last word was cool. Cool.
