Firstly, Shadow Link, I've rather noticed you post REALLY shorts replies to many threads. Do try and be a little more informative about what you're saying.

And as far as Ang Lee trying to go for a comic feel...you can tell he's not. It's the same guy who directed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and his dramatic style shows a lot in the movie. It's not made JUST to be a direct comic translation. It's the Hulk as Ang wants to see it.

I rather liked the movie. If only for its hilarity. It's not something I'd actually pay full price to see...but it's good to watch in the theatres because of all the sound effects and seeing the Hulk REALLY large. What intrigued me is that the Green Meanie actually HAD a super-villain to face. That surprised me.

All in all, I think Ang did a very good job of portraying the Hulk in a really angsty character. The older Hulk (the intelligent green one) didn't have that feel. As far as new issues, I've no real ideas on how it's going. But, compared to Bruce Banner-smart-but-Hulk-strong...I think it's comparably even. Because that smart Hulk had some funny adventures.

I was reading the the Fallow up to what may be the story for the Sequal.

AnD anyway hulk has 3 forms, the original Mean Berserker Gray Hulk, the Green Berserker green hulk.. and Smart Hulk...

Smart hulk not being able to transform back to banner.

Anyway they want to use the Gray hulk for the next one and maybe put abomination in as well.. But they said they wanted to use the Gray hulk for sure.

I seen the movie last night. I have to admit, this movie just proves to me that you should never listen to early reviews. I thought this movie was great. The animation of the Hulk looked almost real most of the movie.

I also like to twist plot putting both David and Bruce Banner in the same movie. And I like the way the movie ends giving the total notion that you will see the Hulk again.

Did anyone catch Stan Lee's little spot in the flick???

This man is a comic god.

Stan Lee's cameo was totally more noticeable in this movie than his in Spider Man. And I don't think I saw him in DareDevil. But, yeah, he was in the beginning. Good to see him involved in the projects, and all!

there is a david banner in the movie??

stan lee said that he hated the name david banner, it was given to the tv series version of hulk by the producers because bruce sounded "homosexual" but out of "respect" his middle name was bruce

Not only is there a David, but he is playing Bruce's father in the movie--hence the big twist in the Hulk story line.

And in defense of the Marvel movies---I too am a big comics fan and I dont think these movies were that bad---I have not seen Dare Devil yet---I will see it on DVD, but the other movies were very good.

I didn't find the Hulk to be that good of a movie. While I found the CG more impressive in the movie compared to the previews, I didn't like the pacing in the beginning of the movie (er, throughout the whole movie mostly) and some of the parts that didn't seem to be purposely funny came off to be hilarious.

The only things I do give props for is that I liked the way some parts were directed to give it that "comic book frame" type of feel (that's the best way I can describe this, you should know what I'm talking about).

    Ah well. I absolutely loved X-men 2 though ^_^

i thought this movie was quite a good movie. the cgs were amazing. and sum ppl didnt like the slow begining. i thought it was good cause it gave sum more character developement and made the audience seem to connect with the characters more. and it built more on the phyciological part of hulk. i thought it was necessary.
and i like how ang lee did it. its very good and unique. the transitions and the comic book feel was good. yes, not a bad movie at all.

Actually, when I said that I didn't like the pacing in the beginning it wasn't because I thought it was slow. In many cases I thought it was too fast! For example, I wish there was some shot between the time Bruce gets his by the Gamma rays and then he's in the hospital bed that shows the woman (I don't even remember her name, egh) totally freaking out or something like that. There were things I wish were shown in the movie that were not. Some points seemed to move too quickly instead of emphasizing certain parts.

My friends who are very much into comic books think the opposite of you. DC Comic movies suck, not Marvel comic movies. Marvel movies have all done very well, while DC hasn't. And what do you mean "no one payed attention to daredevil, hulk or xmen"? Millions of people paid attention to them! There are threads in hundreds of forum sites that pay attention to them.

Nightwarrior . . . if seraphinx didn't understand what you were trying to say, then what the heck WERE you trying to say? He even quoted what you wrote and directly responded to what was written . . . what could he have misread?

You said, "Come on no one payed attention to daredevil, hulk or xmen so why should i care now," and he refuted this by showing that this just isn't true. I paid attention to Hulk and X-men, so does that make me and everyone I know who saw or even liked these movies "no one"? Or did you really mean to say, "I didn't pay attention to daredevil, xmen, etc, and I still don't care now"??

You also said, "All the marvel movies sucked I'm a marvel comics fan I just hate the movies." Again, seraphinx took EXACTLY WHAT YOU SAID and supported his claims with the evidence that he knows other marvel fans that liked the movies.

So now that seraphinx (and perhaps even me now) "don't understand what you're trying to say," then what is it? Don't get pissed at people if they misunderstand something when you may not have written clearly enough to begin with.

And no, I have no grudge to hold against you. I just want to point out that there should be no logical reason for you to be apparently angry in your post (and if it isn't angry at all, then I'll just point out the gratuitous "damn").

I was in fifth grade in 1995. All I remember from fifth grade is disliking my history class and figuring out how to get the attention of a girl named Christie. Your question is completely irrelevant to what I had said and asked in my post, anyway.

Me, myself, and Odin. I felt compelled to jump to seraphinx's defense while you were whining and never explained yourself, not even attempting to clarify your own statements (since seraphinx had apparently misunderstood them) though I'm sure seraphinx could have done so without me. Oh well. What's done is done.

But now I'm straying off topic.

To get back onto it . . .

    - - - - -

I was watching bmwfilms's DVD "The Hire," which consists of eight short films, each with a different director. I know you can download some of the movies off of the internet, since my dad had, at www.bmwfilms.com (the first season premiered in 2001). One of the films, Chosen, was directed by Ang Lee.

Be warned, I'm going to spoil the ending of this short movie for those who care.

In the beginning of the film, the main character is given a box but is told not to open it until later . . . once he does, he finds that it contains a bandaid with a picture of the Hulk on it.

I was greatly amused by this. Ang Lee's a funny man.

lol. Hulk. This movie is great. I loved how I really felt for Hulk. His image int he movie was somewhat passive. He only attacked to defend and protect himself and Betty. Puny Humans. They do not understand.

I loved the comic book feel Ang Lee brought to this movie through multiple screen shots. The most amazing and comic booky was when that guy shot a mini missile at Hulk, and it bounced off and 'WHAM!' haha

is Hulk truly a frog? I wondered...;) there must a lot of frog in him.
