    Its not even close to being cleaned up... THE only places in the city that are liveable are the parts of the city that were not under water.. Every house that was under water has to be completly guted because they are filled with mold and lord knows what else growing in them... It will be months maybe a year before the city is cleaned up to some former resemblence of its former self... And years before its back to normal...

    In that people are returning there, it's beginning it's return to normalcy. Most, if not all of the water has been pumped out now, meaning that reconstruction can actually begin now. You're right, it's far from cleaned up, though they've made tremendous strides so far.

    But I doubt New Orleans will ever be the same. There's been simply too much destruction, I'm sure rebuilding it will leave the city very different from what it was.
