Okay, who here has an iPod. Someone has to. Any kind like mini or shuffle or more than one. And what color.
Also, post how many songs you have.
I have a mini blue iPod and have no songs even though I've had it for about a month. I just have been too lazy.

I chose other as in "other" brand. iPods are too common now that having one just isn't cool anymore. I went for the Creative Zen.

If I ever bought an mp3 player I'd buy something much better than an ipod, I'll tell you that much. They aren't as good as everyone thinks and they're popular because of a huge marketing campaign.

To expensive. Plus, I don't think I need to listen to ten thousand songs or whatever. I stick with my PSP, where I can also store pics, movies, games, or just any data I want.

I'd rather get an iRIVER H50. Or an H10, if I was going for something small. The *only* great thing about the nano (save its size) is that it is a fully flash memory mp3 player. Less chances of breakage.

I'm happy playing the songs in my head. Although I wish the voices would stop....

Other than that I also use my laptop when I want to listen to songs.

    PSP = 250 dollars.
Most recent model of a standard 20 gig Ipod = 270 dollars.

    Never talk about price again.

Edit: Ipod Mini = 94 dollars.

i've had a 15g 3rd gen ipod for about 1 1/2? yrs. It's a piece of crap. has been from day one. It has more flaws than any product i've ever bought and i've got lots of friends who say the same thing. i went through 3 pairs of their earbuds in 2 mnonths before i gave up and bought a decent pair of sony ones, the buttons freeze, it crashes all the time, it crashes my computer, the battery sucks... the list goes on. apple's digging it's grave with these stupid things. (and their customer suport/ warranty policy should be illegal.)
if i get another player (probably will), it'll be an iAudio or a sony.

Yes because hardware that has a good profit margin and sells in huge numbers routinely puts companies out of business.

no, because when people stop buying a companies products, then there is no profit.

But people HAVE NOT STOPPED BUYING THEM, as clearly shown by the fact that they have enough funds to confidently put out the Ipod Nano.

This is true. iPod's are old and people all around the world find them so cool, they keep buying them. Imagine what the Nano will do/is doing. All Nano's around me are on back-oreder they're so popular. I think I'll stick to my plain, old, yet reliable, CD player, thanks. :)

    1) You picked the priciest Ipod in the store and a different model than I did; way to go.

    2) Aren't we also forgetting you need to buy games for the PSP? Add it up and a PSP is WAY more expensive.

Granted I also think the PSP is a horribly designed device with awful battery life and a terrible screen...

    1. The PSP design is better than the Game Boy Advance SP's design, right?

    2. I agree with the battery life, but if you buy the cases that charge your batteries while you play/carry your PSP, it shouldn't be that much of a hassle.

    3. The screen isn't terrible at all... Seriously what's wrong with it?

Hell no! If it was it wouldn't have a dead pixel in the middle of the screen, have an x button that doesn't work very well, or make the UMD disc thingy shoot out when you slightly twist it as well as other problems that I'm too in joy for finally finding FFT sprites to remember!

Eternal-Blaze covered most of this, but let's also add that the GBASP doesn't get a scratched screen as its clamshell design keep it covered when not in use, has more responsive buttons and doesn't get imprints on its screen from pressure. Additionally, Nintendo products tend to be better built, and Sony has a history of using cheap optics for disc reading.

(Edit: Both the GBASP and GBDS have longer battery life)

So all this extra weight, size and cash to listen to mp3s for less time than a straight player would?

Large numbers of dead pixels, for one...

Edit: Regarding dead pixels, at EB we would not accept PSP returns due to dead pixels unless they had over 14 dead pixels. Additionally on such a small screen, that number of defects should not occur, especially in th quantity it's been reported.
