Who knows...maybe he didnt die. Maybe they left it so we would decide whether spike died or not. I dont think there is sufficent proof that he did die though.

I dont think that he died, I think we were all just let to believe that, you never know though, this is just my assumtion...

So it's a bit of a 'Neo' thing in Matrix III. Coincidence that both have similiar endings? I think not. The Wachoski (sp?) brothers were anime influenced especially by 'Ghost in the shell' when they made the first one. That's a fact. And the DBZ style fight at the end of the III shows more evidence.

Anyway, the story ended like that and it surely does seem like he died. No further story indicates that he 'might' have survived.

Well... If you think about Spike's "Cat" Speach he gave to Jet...yes he is completely dead. Like it's over. DEAD.

Even when you consider the fact that spike has died many times and miraculously healed, his cat speach "there was this cat and it died a thousand times -and something about it finally dieing at the end-" Still he is dead...

But that doesn't mean Faye, Jet, Ed or Ein are dead. The story could continue with them. Or they can bring spike back. And if you're thinking about Replacing Spike with Cowboy Andy you are evil.

Neo didn't die per say but he didn't live either. Since most everyone knows the the Matrix is the Jesus story. Jesus didn't die after the resurection. He assented which is kinda what Neo did.

I think he died when Julia died. In Bebop, death is more of a spiritual thing. (Like Spike has "died" many times in the past.)
Anyways somebody once told me "Oh... I thought he just passed out."
Stupid, yeah! But it's nice to think of it that way.

Spike is dead, he falls with his abdomen completely opened up... There's the whole cat story, as well as the closing theme, "Blue". They all prove he's dead.

If they ever make Spike come back to life they'll ruin the whole thing.

 

I forgot another thing that confirms his death:
Sitting Bull tells Jet about how Spike's star would soon fall (he would die.)
At the very end of the episode, on the last line of Blue (ending song), you see a shooting star.

i dont feel that he physically died... he has been hurt more than that plenty of times.. y would that incident be ne different?

 

I don't think Shinichiro Watanabe is going to make another cb movie. if he does...it has to be so amazing and breathtaking...unimaginable.

If you really think about it... Spike kept "coming back to life" because his business in the world wasn't finished. At the end of the series he can finally really die because he did everything he wanted. He found Julia again, and the threat of Vicious is over and done with. He did what he sought out to do and he can now finally die in peace and all that junk.

Now everyone knows that Julia was killed in part one of the show and that old lady uhhhh... whats her name..... awill if you seen it you know what I'am talking about, anyways he went off to finish it all between Vicous. His crew that Jet and Faye, thats why she try to stop him.Even Spike knew that he meet not come out alive all he knew is that he had to end it with Vicious, even if that that meant that losing his life.And is'nt that why we love Spike for about, his not caring about losing his life, but at the end it was serioues.Thats why I belive that Spick really die, he jus wanted to end, whats there to live for him.(but I wish the show could go on, sigh.... :sad

How could his abdomen fall out if he was (1) hit by a throwing knife in the shoulder, (2) hit by a bullet in the arm, and(3) cut in the leg by vicious' katana? That doesn't make sense, and is the most idiotic death I have ever heard of. Spike has survived waves of bullets, countless grenades, scores of cuts, and many falls that would normally kill a man. What you propose is inconclusive, and proves nothing. Also, the shaman could have been refferring to a death much later on. Spike would not die from a mere flesh wound. Think about it!!! :anger2: :anger2: :anger2:

 

Actually, there is talk about a new Cowboy Bebop series: Cowboy Bebop U.T. Unfortunately, the current plan for the plot to have nothing to do with the Bebop crew. Its actually going to be about VT (from 'Full Metal Queen') and VT's husband bounty hunter (can't remember his name). So, Spike is definitely dead and no plan for a second movie at all.

Plot device, my friend. Plot device.
