Inu-Yasha Kikyo, good or evil?

I say good. I know so many people have thoughts on kikyo (most negative) but shes my personal favorite character and yes when it comes to Inuyasha i belive Kagome is a better fit concidering the extreamly odd cercumstances (urrrrr cant spell...) but if Naraku did not come then Kikyo and Inuyasha would definetly better, anywho i want to know what the world thinks, remember Kikyo good or evil please post!! (and im sorry if this is already a topic i searced and did'nt see anything with this exact topic but if im wrong feel free to stop me!)

 

hmmm... i think she's a little bit of both. Apart from the Inuyasha group, she's pretty nice to everyone.... but then sometimes she goes haywire and does some pretty mean things (like steal the jewel from Kagome, try to kill Inuyasha etc.) but at least she's fighting against Naraku right? Truthfully I don't think that's the real Kikyo anyway but the clay body is neither good nor evil, just somewhere in between.

 

nicely said , yes Kikyo can be a skitzo some times and in general i say like you shes half and half but some of the horrable things she does has a deeper meaning like stealing the jewel from Kagome, she did it so eventual she could send Naraku to hell i just think the way she does things are not so clear when shes doing them but all have meaning.

 

Yes this is all true Kikyo can be good and evil but if u think about it she still loves Inu-Yasha wich does in most cases make her good because things in life do depend on love and feelings towrds other people :blushes: and i like Kikyo shes pretty kool thats another reason i think shes good.

lol I take it you two are Kikyo fans? in fact I just checked and both of you said you were...heh.... i dont hate her at all... but she isn't my favorite character (I'm more of a Kagome person lol) but still... she has her good points

 

Yes you are right i do support kikyo but she is not my fave i like Sango, Inu-Yasha, Koga and Miroku (cant forget Kiirara) those are my onle fave characters kikyo and kagome are kool but they are not the all time best sry had to break the news to ya.

 

i think kikyo is a good. she is angry at inuyasha, so thats why she acts that way to inu and his group. also, her soul is trapped in clay body(plus some part of her soul belongs to kagome) and that adds more anger. but apart from that she is a very nice person i think.

 

I just think Kikyo is misunderstood that's all. She may have done bad things, but I don't personally think her intentions are bad. She's just trying to make up for her own suffering. I by the way, am a Kagome fan :anime:

 

This is surprising. Usually with a board like this you would attract hundreds of angry screaming Kikyo haters. So far, we don't even have one! lol

 

Good or evil..??? Actually, she confused me a bit...It's like she have multiple personalities..! sometime she can be so kind and sweet, but suddenly she can be sooo scary..!! :sweat2: But I think that she's actually good..!^_^

well at least you dont totaly hate her which some do.......ok alot do but thats not the point i like all the characters in inuyasha because lf you drop even one it would not be the same and no matter how much you Kikyo haters dont like it shes a huge part of the story and its not as interesting without the romantic conflict in inuyasha. sorry this is so long :sweat2:

 

lol true.. what im about to say would mostly apply to inukag fans... but without kikyo then the romance with inuyasha and kagome would've been incredibly boring and cliche. You know, "You're a great person, I love you". "Same here". *Big kiss* lol.... but with Kikyo around then it's a LOT more subtle.... plus i think kikyo was needed to show inuyasha that kagome isn't kikyo and vice versa.

besides..she can be cool when she kicks ***..gotta admit it :anime:

Kikyo, when she was alive, was a good and pure woman of great spiritual strength. She chose to die rather than let herself be consumed by hatred, which was more or less what Naraku wanted. However....

After being brought back to life (in a manner of speaking) she became a being of more or less utter malice. The only reason she was able to hold on to any sort of life after Kagome's soul(s) were returned to their proper place was because she, Kikyo, was full of hate. At that point she became something completely different from the good, pure, gentle woman she had been in life. Yes, she still does good things for people, but she extracts a price in the form of souls to keep her own clay body functioning.

She does serve a purpose as far as the plot goes. Naraku is both helped and hindered by her presence (it depends on what best serves her at any given time). She is most definitely a catalyst in the relationship between Inuyasha and Kagome, but I feel this makes the relationship almost more cliche rather than less.

I personally feel that Kikyo has outlived her usefullness as far as the story goes, but she cannot simply cease to exist because that gives no closure to her present actions. Something needs to happen to give her the closure she needs, and once that is accomplished, she should cease to be an active part of the story.

Agreed, somewhat. i do agree in the fact that there are to many loss ends to be left hanging if she were to just dissapear, however i do not agree about kikyo now being nothing but a mailced creature, whenever shes not with inu and gang shes usually helping in a village, perhaps you would remember after she was 'created' and fell of a cliff kikyo ended up at a village with a little girl named sayo, sayo stated that she loved kikyo to which kikyo replied saying she thought of her as a little sister and had hoped to stay with her longer. Does that sound like a beastly monster to you? and even if you were to argue this with the fact she tryed to kill inuyasha, can you blame her? in the begining we only knew inuyashas story that he was sealed to a tree by kikyo but for all kikyo knew she was killed by inuyasha the one she loved all for a powerful rock. so try putting your self in her shoes.

 

Even though it's true that when she first comes back to life she thinks Inuyasha betrayed her, she then learns otherwise. Even when she knows Inuyasha didn't do anything she still tries to drag him to hell with her. (what i still don't get is, even if she DOES drag him to hell...they still can't be together... they're dead not to mention in hell) Anyway, like I said before, yes she can be good, but she can also be bad. It depends on her mood and whether Inuyasha is involved.

Kikyo does die. (this is just a guess.. but for some reason i have a feeling you already knew that).. in any case (if u didn't) she dies without closure. However, I've heard that Kagome revives her again and she comes back into the story (but this is just in the manga). So we still don't know what happens to her.

Just out of curiosity, how do you figure that Kikyo makes the romance more cliche? If she hadn't been around, they would have just fallen in love normally and stayed together. Very boring.... and cliche. I suppose I can see where you're coming from, but just to hear your opinion, how does she make it worse?

 

but when she tried to drag him to hell with her she was only told by him he did not kill her its only after when she talks to Kaede that she learns the full story.

 

Then how come she still has made no move for inuyasha if she leared the truth from her very sister? just a thought :sweat2:
