Whoa, YES! I agree with the statements MO has made about Shinji. He was whiny, corrupt, and everything else. He was so blinded by everything he wouldn't at all listen to Misato when she told him basically straighten up and quit sitting around waiting to die. A definite idiot.

But I guess there's never been any question of what camp I'm in.

I think on End of Evangelion, Misato should have put that Good for nothing Shinji out of his misery, of course if that happened, there would be no story.

I dun like the kid, he annoyed me, he always felt sorry for himself and **** "Oh I'm all alone.. oh nobody loves me... wwaaah waahh waah," and it drove me crazy. I think Kaworu should have just taken over the world and ruled it with his hottness... he might have some problems with that now though... ruler's need heads but whatever!!!

 

Shinji isnt that big of a little wimp in the mangas, hes actaully pretty cool in em. Thats all i got to say, laterz.

 

I should check out the mangas.. they're usually better than the series.

I love to read Evangelion manga books and I read it many times I guess you'll find something different in them I've never seen the anime, but my eva bud said so.

But, the new manga book are published about once a year... I can't wait for the next volume!!!!!

I agree. Shinji was a realistic character. And I think Eva answers the question, "What would happen if the fate of the world rested in the hands of a textbook unattachment disorder case?" Yes, Shinji was annoying as crap, and yes, he was not very heroic, and yes, if I met him IRL, I would not want to be around him. BUT, from the standpoint of him being a character in a rather tragic story, I think he's great. And no one can deny that Eva would not be Eva without the whiny selfish brat as the main character.

Well, firstly, to understand what im gonna say, u gotta know me. I like my cartoons with blood, guts, guns, and chicks in bikinis. With this cartoon, that is not the case. Im a type of guy that would rather break a guys nose:bleed: than negotiate , but hey, im human. I have feelings. Not like the guy who started this thread. Heartless bastard.
Shingi cops alot of ****. ALOT of ****. It's a mirical that he hasent commited scuicide by now. Sure he feels sorry for himself a bit too much, but really, can u blame him? He has no life. He gets pushed around so much. Its people like Asuka that weakens his confidence. Slowly, slowly, his confidence dissapears. It is then replaced with sorrow and depression. He cant stick up for himself cause he knows if he tries, he will just be ganged up on.
So if he cant stick up for himself, all he can do is sit back and let everyone else run his life for him. And in those moments where people arnt yelling at him, he is to sad to do anything exept feel sorry for himself. To You's that might be annoying, but to shinji, thats the only person that feels sympathy towards him. Himself.
And his only 14! 14! Im 14 and i think if every one gave me as much **** as they gave shinji, well im pretty sure i would act the same way as him too.
Its good that for once, the creators tried to make a hero to be more "life like", not some guy with muscles the size of watermelons, or some guy with super powers. Shinji is an ordinary guy with alot of problems.
It really shits me that you guys cant pick on someone already picked on as much as shinji. Take a good loooooong look in the mirror at yourselves and tell me, do u's have ANY pride and dignity left AT ALL:shy:? The way you kick at someone already on the ground.:anger2:
