Music Linkin Park almost killed my sister

Not really, but sorta. My sister was riding in a car with three of her friends, coming home from a Linkin Park concert in Montana (home of the crappiest drinking laws ever) A drunk driver decided to make a left turn in front of them, and the result was not pretty. The hospital was told to expect multiple casualties and if any survived to be ready for serious surgery.

Miraculously (see the pics of the car) all survived with some bruises, scrapes and cuts.

Nothing pisses me off more than drunk drivers. You should have your license taken away permanently after one infraction IMHO. Montana just slaps you on the wrist for the first couple offenses. The lady driving the other car won't even have that happen to her though, the effing cops asker her if she was drunk- "no" and they let her go. I mean come on.. it's after midninght, and she was pulling out of a bar and they didn't even test her. She admitted later to the insurance agent that she'd had "four or five" drinks. One wonders how many it really was.

Stupid effing cops, what the hell are they good for. To top it off, the EMT holding my sister's head steady as they cut her out of the car had alcohol breath. Stay the hell out of Montana..

In the first pic (last post) that door up on top of the car is her door.. one of the people in the back seat who wasn't in shock bent it all the way up there trying to get her out. The firemen still had to use the jaws of life though.

Alcohol is the suck.

that is unreal, over here afaik drunk drivers get in some SERIOUS **** if they are caught, as is rightly so! if you are over the limit (bugger the limit, if you have any alcahol or drugs in you) you shouldn't drive. (although studies have shown that drivers drive better while stoned than sober.. but that's studies for you...)

glad your sis is ok, you should get the phone number or addy of that stupid ***** behind the wheel and call her up to demand an apology, or ring the local newspaper in her town or something..

 

MO, it's sad but true, how horribly un inforced liquor laws are. So many people are hurt or killed due to drunk driving, and other booze induced accidents. It's ****ing stupid. I'm sorry your sister had to go through that ****, I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for her. Sadly, there seems to be no one trying to *do* something about this corrupted part of the law.

Drunk drivers should be banished to hell and get spanked by the devil himself.

Here in Sweden, Drunk drivers always, and i mean, always, get away with some bills. Last year, 2 girls, aged 14 got killed by a drunk driver. His penalty? 5000krs ( 400-500 american Dollars )

That's ****ing crazy,man.I hope your sister is doing well.I hate drunk drivers.I also hate the police.I'm sure some are good,but they are all so stupid.The penalties for crimes are all out of whack.A drunk driver hits a car and almost kills a few people.What's his punishment?A ****ing FINE!?Meanwhile,a man that was unsuccessful in an UNARMED robbery attempt gets 33 years!I saw a story on TV the other day,about a man who's wife was having a heart attack.He drove very fast to try to get her to the hospital,but a cop tried to pull over.He pulled over,thinking that the cop could help him get an ambulance.The cop get's out and *****es at him for 15 MINUTES!His wife is gasping for air and dying slowly,but the cop wouldn't let him go.He was so pissed that he was speeding!So he tells the man to go the SPEED LIMIT to the hospital,and he FOLLOWS HIM!He get's their too late,and his wife dies the next morning.It's just rediculous.

 

the law these days. its all pointless. i read an article somewhere, cant remember where, that if someone was to break into your house and lets say fall and break their leg, they can sue you. and if you have money you can get away with murder, look at oj (i think he did it). people would be better off in a society where there was total anarchism

 

because then even people without a lot of money could get away with murder

Thanks everyone, for your concern. My sister is indeed OK. Yesterday (one week later) she took second place in the long jump at the Casper Invitational (if anyone knows what that is I will be surprised)

I basically needed a place to vent my frustration with drunk drivers, and the idiot cops on the scene. Montana really needs to take a hard look at its laws. I really wouldn't mind slashing that lady's tires, over and over.

My aunt was down in florida just last summer in a van with like five of her friends for a Reunion party. Well needless to say that there were some drunks out there and one of them, swirved (sp,) infront of them an caused a really big accident.

The driver of the other car got away with only a few scrapes and bruises, while my aunts friends all had broken arms and legs.

My aunt was the worst of out of all of them. She broke her leg and her neck and had to have like 6-8 surgeries and had to have I think it was, 5 disks removed from her spinal coloum.

Damn those drunk drivers!

Wow. It looks like the only thing that saved them (from the picture) is that they hit the engine block corner and it didn't bust through into the passenger compartment. Justice will eventually catch up with the drunkard, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just be glad your sister and co escaped without major injury.

Gad MamiyaOtaru, thats those kind of things you see in those driver's ED videos. Props go to your sister and her friends for surviving that with such minor injuries, they seem like a tough bunch. As much as everyone seems to be suing people over everything, this would warrent one in my book. "Send her back to the Stone Age" I say. Your family and your sister's friends have my best wishes.

You're kidding right? Thats just...WRONG. You can murder a guy, claim you were drunk and get off only paying a fine.

 

OMG!! She's so lucky! I feel terrible about it and a little guilty (My biological father has been involved with some drunk crashes). all i can say is that i'm so glad that my bio father has joined AA and the last time i saw him 7yrs ago, he had been sober for 2 or 3 yrs it think. Anyways, i'm going to join the teens against Drunk Drivers program at my school. Although i wont be able to be apart of it til next school year seeing how school's going to be out soon.

 

Well im a Bit late at noticing this thread.. Its good everyone came out ok.. I know how scary a car crash is.. having been in one myself.. But it was not drunk driving related.. But the car was totaled none the less.. Anyway good she is alright alone with her friends.. I supose they are having a hard time trying to get back behind the wheel and wanting to drive again..

OMG! i am glad that she is ok. i hate those drunk drivers. they are so stupid. and the police these days, in this town, you call them for an emergency and they think nothing of it but to drive around again like nothing happened. gosh, well, i am glad yer sis is ok and good luck to her.

 

Oh my god what a wreck! **** laws in Montana. How dumb is that that they let her go??? I'm glad your sister is okay. With the car a wreck like that one might think no one survived.
