The Kenshin OAV rocks - I dunno if it's the best anime I've seen (I'd probably have to go with Gundam 0083 or 08th MS for that) but it's certainly amazing. The TV series is exceptionally good as well, much more light-hearted than the (exceptionally gory and quite disturbing) OAV, but it's huuuuuuuuge - over 100 episodes of wallet-damaging goodness [IMG]

but its the seriousness of the anime that makes it so cool. Still the TV series from the 1/2 episode i looked at seemed ok ...

Berserk is still my favourite though [IMG]
but Kenshin is a close second.

    Patlabor I/II
    Ghost in the shell
(Both already on Region 1 DVD)
Vampire Hunter D (Soon to be out on DVD)

The rest I've seen have been woeful. Either unbelievably childish, or plain porn, or worse Both.
There was an explanation of Anime styles on one I saw recently and it tried to answer the age old question of why Anime women look like overly-developed school kids.
It put nearly everything down to fashion in Japan, which obviously is to look and sound like a young schoolgirl to be atractive. No wonder they export 40% of the world's kiddy-p0rn.
Hmmm, went slightly off topic....Oh well...

there's a good series... I also have a link to a site with manga volumes 17-38 (that is the end of the series) of Ranma½ on it. Any requests? I see people with Manga sites all the time, I could pick some up for ya, or refer ya to the site.

Ah, the good ol' New Ranma Project! A great piece put together by a great set of people in a matter of less than a year... also my first introduction to Ranma 1/2, by the way...

But, back to topic, it all depends if your seeking commercialized or online type Mangas, where ta look..
