I agree with Izzy, it does depend on the series.
There are good mangas yet to be animated.
There are some mangas that should not have been animated,
(and only liked by hardcore fans.)
There are animes you wish had a manga to go with it.
Some mangas that are so creative, that you get excited to see it animated. Some animes get you interested into reading the manga.
Sometimes anime version cut the series short, so you most read the manga
to know how the series ends. Some animes changed the story,
and you get disipointed about what has left out or changed.
Other times the anime version is better.
The best seires I feel should be enjoyable both ways.
With that said, If you limit youself to just one please open your mind to both versions of the seires.

    Manga :p

Personaly i think manga is better cause its the exact thoughts that the writer was thinking and its more storys in one than waiting tilll another eposod of soming to come on.

You make a good poin in that. I wish Anime was as detailed as its magna predecesor. Some things just cant be done. I choose MANGA!

I would say the manga is better. I like the anime and understand why people like it mostly because they like to know what the actual voices of the characters are and what they sound like.

I prefer the manga because you can use your imagination and look into the manga in your own way. The anime takes that away. In the manga, you can interpret what you want the characters to sound like and look like. Such as imagining the character having black hair and in the anime the character might have blond hair. The manga is the orginal story, not changing the story lines as the anime would do.
