in response to my thread on Classic Cars...heres one on modern cars...everyday to high end.

I personally drive a 97 Supercharged DOHC 2.0 litre Inline 4 Honda Prelude. love my car....pretty fast...bout oh something like 300 horsepower maybe 290 pounds of torque.

i wish i owned a Subaru WRX STI but well....kinda outta my price range.

Yeah, I drive a 89 Taurus that my dad hit a guardrail in. It's not pretty, but it's mine.

I would love an Audi A8.

For modern cars, I'd have to go with the Audi TT or the Porche Boxter.

I'd just be happy to be able to afford anything.
Of course, the Hachi-Roku (1986 Toyota Trueno GT Apex) is still the best. I don't know if that's "modern", though.
I saw this really nice Boxter last summer, in Strathroy, of all places. Here I thought everyone in that town was poor. Anyway, it was royal blue with the stereotypical white racing stripes, just like in the movies. It was pretty.

I really love the Z8, although its freakishly expensive... gah. But someone near our street has one, they must be going through a mid-life crisis.

The Lotus 111s is 30k. Not worth it though. I love them, bu tthe engine sucks, and you're gaining weight because of US standards. Like I said, i love them, but the one's we're getting are kinda dumb.

    Import it, if you can.

The domestic version comes with a Celica GT engine. It also comes with a stereo, sound deadening, airbags, air conditioning/heater. You don't get those with the imports, which is what they're meant to be. RACE CARS. Not over-glorified Celicas.

Also, remember if you get this car. It's made out of Fibers and Plastics. You don't know how to drive safely, or you're a beginner, then you're SCREWED in an accident.

My dad was jabbering about how the U.S. standards screwed everyone over, specially on the lotus.

On another note, my friend is teaching me how to race, type 1, Im driving a volvo 142, which has great steering although i need to soop up the engine...

Actually, the Subaru WRX STi is actually BETTER in the US than in Japan. Same for the Honda S2000. Bigger engines. Although, that made the WRX STi illegal to compete in rally events.

I happen to love audi's to death, although they have major problems, although they have the ultra-sleek design.

thats why most people do work on a WRX sedan. although you start with 50 less horse you can eventually push its horsepower to around 400 BHP. to be honest you could turn a regular WRX into an STi which a lot of people do. the WRX comes to a price of about 22K new. the STi is about 26K. so...for about 3 grand you can get the STi parts. except for the engine which if i remember correctly is a half a litre bigger than the WRX.

The STi comes with a strengthened engine block with molybdenum-coated pistons to reduce friction, forged conrods, an enlarged turbo which delives 17.5 PSI instead of the normal 14.5 PSI on the WRX, and a different intercooler which in total pushes out about 275 BHP at about 6400 RPM and about 275 Lb-ft of torque at about 4000 RPM. also included are Brembo brakes - 12.8 inch rotors in the front and 12.4 inchers in the rear - and suspension, improved chassis rigidity, the 17 inch gold wheels, 6-speed gearbox, slightly wider track and foglamp covers differentiate the STi from the WRX.

My uncle who owns a car dealership, and gave me & my twin our cars.

Anyways he bought himself a brand new Ferrari Straddle. He collects many nice cars, but this is the best one he owns. Unfortunately it is an Automatic since he bought it off the lot. It has 8 cylinders, and it has loads of other options, but i do not the horsepower and everything else.

    You were very lucky.
A close friend of my family ran a red light and she got hit in the side of her corolla by an SUV and she is in critical care, the really need to find something to deal with the stupid SUVs.
