It's not the SUVs. It's the rule breaking of running that red light. And, I'm PRETTY sure that no matter what car it was that hit that corolla, the corolla wouldn't be in ANY kind of good shape. However, I understand how you feel, there are enough stupid drivers out there to make driving ANY car dangerous.

I myself got into almost 4 accidents today, just because of people not turning when they're signalling AND slowing down and suddenly swerving back into the lane.

In any case, my S40's built like a tank, just as volvo claims. I was in a 45 mph accident a few months ago, and I came out of it with a bent muffler, a mishinged rear bumper, and a few dents on my hood. The lexus behind me had his front bumber collapsed, headlight smashed, hood bent upwards, and fender crushed from the accordion impact.

Then my civic last year...shoot, that got sideswiped when *I* was stopped, nowhere NEAR an intersection, when the car climbed OVER a concrete island and smashed into my side.

Maybe car companies should just make better, safer cars...but...that would put to waste the cars like the Lotus Elise, BMW M3 CSL, etc...

Its not the cars that are dangerous. its the person behind the wheel. i mean i drive a pretty quick car. i can do 0-60 in about 5 seconds and have a top speed of about 150 or so. but, i never drive my car like that, the only place ive ever driven my car in an aggressive manner was on a track at a race course near my house. but on the road i drive my best and i try never to speed or do anything dangerous. i mean in my accident my friend didnt do anything wrong at all. We were pulling through an intersection and some guy without his lights on, who was speeding, while talking on his cell phone, slammed into our car. If my friend had been going but another 4 - 5 miles an hour i would have been killed. i mean you should see my friends car...its almost totalled... because the guy his his axel the car wasnt totalled so...its in the process of being repaired. but thats what i mean, a guy who didnt have his lights on and wasnt paying attention to the road. its the person driving whose dangerous not the car itself. yes some cars are somewhat unsafe like some SUV's but there only unsafe if you drive them unsafely...yeah they have a tendency to roll...if you take a corner at like 45 yeah its gonna roll...but your not supposed to take a corner at more than 25 unless your doing rally or something in which case your in a car that meant for that sort of thing.
