I'm assuming you're not talking about the full release DVDs? Because if you are, then why choose between dubbed and subbed if they have 'em both?

Personally, I'd probably go for the Evangelion. The real box set, actually. Save up 50 or so more american bills and get the original release. Why? Well, I like collecting stuff...and I'd only say to collect stuff that you know won't be here anytime soon. Like Video Girl Ai or DNA^2...I gotta get the Hong Kong ones for those...*sigh*

Romantic Comedy, just like Video Girl Ai, just like Tenchi, just like Ranma, just like...well, almost all the anime I know. Hehe.

And pink? If she has blue hair, a kinda white armor-thing, and purple suit....then yes, it's DNA2...well, it MIGHT be another cover...*shrugs*

Hmm, personally, I'm really into the romantic comedy shtick. I mean, I've never fully gone back into the sci-fi/drama thing since I finished Lain and Eva. Still, I'd probably go for Evangelion, if only because it's a great series. Sucks that it doesn't come with Death/Rebirth and The Movie though.

Maybe Love Hina? Or even try out Kare Kano, to save yourself some money, and just get the two volumes that are out...and get them as they come. Kare Kano's good...I like it a lot, and it's great fun...and it's ALSO made by Gainax. FLCL too, though only one volume is out right now, and no one knows when the next one is coming...*sigh*

Blood_Phoenix - Gundam Wing itself is about 40-something episodes long, and it takes place in an alternate universe and stands on its own so you wouldn't be diving into the middle of the "gundam universe" and find you have to buy seven more series (no, that's not a realistic number, but there are a LOT of Gundam series).

I think out of the choices you gave at the beginning of the thread, I'd choose between Trigun and Evangelion. But since the Trigun would be in English . . . then Eva would be the best choice.

Or just get the Bebop box set (if it can be found).

If you're gonna look into Gundam series, avoid Wing.

If you can find that Bebop box set (the american release) for that 200 bucks in US currency...get it, ship it to me and I'll pay you back PLUS 50 extra. And I'm not talking about the bootleg and all that either. The BIG box, with the separate sleeves and everything. Why? Well, I've seen it retailing for about 350+ nowadays. BTW, I'm talking about the Perfect Sessions. *sigh*

Yeah, Trigun's pretty good, I guess. If you're thinking Gundam Wing, just get yourself the Endless Waltz DVD and be happy. :D

Lots of people see Wing as a baby Gundam. I don't really see why though. I just think it's a bit more boring and two dimensional than some of the other series. The gundam's look really good though, some of the better designed ones.

I'd give it 7. Heero's a machine that has no feelings whatsoever. Quatre is a wuss. Wufei is blatantly and almost Inuyasha-y (though not as funny) chauvanistic (probably because he lacks Dog Ears). Trowa is boring, just like Heero (but his cool clown mask on his Gundam makes up for it in extremes). Duo is funny, he's actually worth watching.

And I believe it's Baka that said it long ago, the side characters give the series more depth than any of the main ones do. *shrugs*

So, slightly average. I'm not an avid Gundam watcher, to be honest, but I keep hearing from my friend that Gundam X is rather good.

Like I said before too, Wing has some of the best designs though. Heavy Arms Custom and Sheng Long ain't got nothing on any of the other gundam!

Hm. You want a Gundam series, eh? Look into The 08th MS Team. It takes place in the universe of the original, with art better than Wing's. It centers upon a green commander in the Federation Army that goes by the name of Shiro Amada, and his troops. It shows the hardships of way, the blossoming of romance, and the evolution of a leader and his troops. I lvoed it, too bad there's only one season...:(

Its not out yet.The next Gundam series coming to the US is Zeta Gundam which is known as the best of the series.

Gundam X is alternate Universe series much like Gundam Wing,I have read episode summaries and can say it is much better than Wing ever was.(not like thats difficult)It did not complete its 49 episode run however,it ended at episode 39.(My current avatar is the main character of it,Garrod Ran)

Not really, its just messed up.The characters do absolutely nothing and seem to act like badly programmed androids.Thats the main problem with the series for most people.
