    Does anyone else think Mireille looks like Julia from Cowboy Bebop?

    I think the real Tsukasa from Hack Sign looks a bit like Kirika. I should see if the music is done by the same people who did Noir too..

    All of Noir's music are directed, remixed and moderated by Kajiura Yuki, so if your looking for the music in hack sign. That's a name which you should look out for

    I love this anime. I really like the use of style ant the fact that blood isn't on the screen ever 10 secs. Also I'm glad to see another anime where girls can fend for themsleves instead of sitting aroun for some guy to do it for them. The story is great and I hope to see more. ( only seen the first 5 eps)

    After hearing so much good stuff about Noir, and since Im a big fan of the Film Noir genere, I bought the first DVD.

    I like it, its a little slow at times and sometimes over does the flashbacks but its good. I donno, while I watched it I felt a little bored at times but once it was over I couldnt stop thinking about how good it was. I'm going to get the next DVD and watch the first 10 episodes in a row and see what happens whether it becomes another obsession or just a show I like.

    What keeps me interested is those girls! They dont parade around it barely a stictch (like some shows), which I think is great. Instead they are complex characters, one wishing she had a sense of grief, one wishing she had the cool nonchalont violent attitute of the other. They make a great pair and Im glad that the producers havent immediatly made them lovers. I kinda exspected them to fall in love right off the bat, but was pleasently surprised that they are ::GASP:: acting like normal people who get to know each other and figure each other out before they become good friends let alone romantically involved.

    Oh and the opening sequence macks it all the way baby!!

    I don't know if I agree with you and your comment that Noir aint Film Noir.

    I went to my favorite Film Noir site (http://www.filmsite.org/filmnoir.html) and checked out what Film Noir is defined as. This is what I found (I bolded aspects that are in Noir the anime):

    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
    The primary moods of classic film noir are melancholy, alienation, bleakness, disillusionment, disenchantment, pessimism, ambiguity, moral corruption, evil, guilt and paranoia. Heroes (or anti-heroes), corrupt characters and villains include down-and-out, hard-boiled detectives or private eyes, cops, gangsters, government agents, crooks, war veterans, petty criminals, and murderers. These protagonists are often morally-ambiguous low lifes from the dark and gloomy underworld of violent crime and corruption. Distinctively, they are cynical, tarnished, obsessive (sexual or otherwise), brooding, menacing, sinister, sardonic, disillusioned, frightened and insecure loners (usually men), struggling to survive and ultimately losing.

    The females in film noir are either of two types - dutiful, reliable, trustworthy and loving women; or femme fatales - mysterious, duplicitous, double-crossing, gorgeous, unloving, predatory, tough-sweet, unreliable, irresponsible, manipulative and desperate women.
    ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

    Seems to be a film noir to me...

    If you like the femme fatale aspect of Film Noir check out The Big Sleep (1946), its some high quality Noir.

    As for the romance, I wasnt hoping for it. I was merely surprised that the producers didnt imedatily make em into a couple (come on, an anime with two chicks who kill people and live together? What was I supposed to think??) Im glad the producers decided to keep the focus on their issues with their jobs and past instead of making it another romance action series.

    Actually, if you read the liner notes in the first Noir DVD, it says that it purposely tried to implement certain elements of the noir genre.

    I saw that too. They really did a great job of implementing the Film Noir camera style. The close ups, pans, almost understress on the action so as to make what you do see more meaningful, and the flashback sequences.

    I like it how they arent restricting themselves to classic 40's and 50's Noir but sort of doing an updated Noir with more light than usual and a magestic religious tint (ie the locket, prophecy, and music)

    I cant wait for the second DVD!

    Please post all thoughts on Noir here
    I love Noir it is a great series. At a glace is looks like Charlie's Angels but when you watch it turns out to be a very dark show as the name emplies.

    I think that Noir may be my absolute favorite anime ever. It definately has a good everything, but especially a good soundtrack. I love "Coppelia's Casket" (the opener), and the song "Melodie" (the pocketwatch song) ain't so bad, either.

    'Solitude by the window', 'canta per me', and 'salva nos' distances itself from the others. Great music. Yuki Kajiura is the composer... remember it.

    I've seen the first 3-4 episodes of it, I stopped d/ling due to format that I didn't get to do it eventually =/

    And still didn't get to see it. It's a great anime, shows that women aren't weak :p. But I guess its a little bit predictable. I've seen just few episodes and knew what it's about. well, not knew totaly, because I was telling my thoughts to Mordeth and he told me that what I said was right. So I told him to spoil stuff for me any more :p

    But so far so good, looking for a chance to see it :)
