The absolute worst injury I had was also in basketball, and it was in practice! I went to block a layup (which I did) but the guy's head came up under my chin, and I bit off a fair chunk of my tongue. In fact, if I stick my tongue out, you can tell it's missing a bit on the right side. Took to me a week to start talking again. The involuntary drooling was fun too!

Ripped out that piece of tongue myself too! buahahahaha!

Soccer match. I was the first choice goalie (my regular position).

Anyhow. The team we faced were huge 30 year old men, one of the players crossed the ball into the penalty area, with the striker chasing the ball. I ran out to kick it away, and he need to kick the ball to score.

Now remember, both of us were kicking with a strength for king and country. Due to the weird grassfield, the ball bounced strangely, and instead of the ball, both of our shinlegs kicked each other.

My god, I thought I broke it.

    The pain. The pain.

    Hiro,tak,tak,tak!

Poor, poor you Hiro..I told you never to play with balls...that you shoot in the basket. :anime: .I don't think you broke it cause then you won't be able to walk at all and even if you tried to walk it will hurt like hell! I have played many sports but the worst was playing that stupid game in P.E. back in middle school. It was indoor soccer but with your hands instead with your feet, sorry I forgot the name. I dislocated my knee cap and I had to go to the hospital and the doctors had to put it back into place..I scream like HELL! THE PAIN WAS JUST FEAKEN HORRIBLE and I just wanted someone to shoot me in the head...well after that it my knee once again dislocated and I had to get surgery from that...teehee! it sucks! :dizzy2:

I twisted my ankle last year at Malaysia while playing soccer with my brothers and cousin. It got worse later on that day that I couldn't move at all. My parents saw that it has gotten bigger so they took me to the hospital. Sadly, it was Sunday, so all the specialists were on vacation. The only doctor left was some ordinary doctor for imergancies. She told me to try and walk on them (I went there by a wheelchair to show you how freaking hurt it was!), I couldn't. That idiot thought I was "afraid" of walking. She gave me some pain killer and some ointment to kill the pain as well.

When I came back home and when to a specialist for bones, he said that how the heck I was walking on it without a 'cast' (spl?) on it. He told me that there was something that I broke, not bones, but something else..

To this day, I can't wear any shoes or sandals that I wish to wear (specially high-heels). Wow.. it has been a year already..

I guess it depends on what you call a sport.. I was on a bike once and I crashed and bruised my ribs also the handle bad went into my stomach.. that was fun.

But school related sports.. hm... all I can think of was when I was in 3rd grade and played soccer and I went to kick the ball for a goal and some kid missed the ball and kicked me... well.. yeah... thats something I don't forgot to easy.

Well, it wasn't as if it was a *large* piece. It was probably just a bit smaller than a half an inch long and less than a tenth thick. It was really small. But it did cut into the tongue "meat", and having living flesh dangling about actually hurt. So, what I did was:
    1. Spit out enough blood at a water fountain, there was actually quite a bit.
    2. Stick out my tongue (which took great effort, because it felt like my jaw rusted shut)
    3. Pinch my fingers on the dangly piece (which hurt when I touched it, and hard with the blood)
    4. Pull in a jerky motion.
Needless to say, it took a few tries. =P
