Indeed...What kind of fool would pay $800!? I wouldn't even pay 600...not even for the Xbox Next!

I asked my friend who is doing merchandizing acquisition over here.

The price was quoted by her, around january, from the people she knows as well.

Anyway the price hasnt been fixed, i am not settling down with a conclusion like this.

 

$ 800 for a new console is not normal. Could you have meant Singapore dollars?

Misunderstanding

800 dollars? No, I don't think Sony would ever make that kind of decision.. I mean if they did then their business would crash because not everybody has 800 dollars stashed in their wallet.. Games are expensive as it is.. Marketing are only successful if you make adequate decisions.. And Sony is careful with their business ventures.

Oh God that's an ugly design. It's like it's trying to imitate HAL 3000 but failing horribly.

 

Design

It is a possibility.. then again it may be not.. But hey, we can't be sure until the official design is released.. I think they can come up with something better don't you think? My microwave oven can pass up as PS3 design.

Regarding to what it says at the bottom..5.1 surround sound? Isn't that a bit weak for a next-gen system. I've heard from lots of sources that the next gen consoles should be coming with 7.1 surround sound....

And the DVD player, looks like another add on that will most likely slow it down...but hopefly, it IS just a prototype..that will get rejected...

i been chekin the power of the ps3 its around 1.3teraflops....!!

ok an average computer runs about 4-7gigaflops... thats ultrapowerful

and the xbx2 runs bout 40gigflops... so that means the ps3's graphics will look sooo....................freekin plastic!!!

 

Ok, time to clear some things up.

FLOPS = Floating Points Operations Per Second.

Be careful not to buy into BIG NUMBERS HERE FOLKS mentality; we really don't need another case of BLAST Processing.

i did not give the more detail specs for the new processor that will spank any intel and sorry to say AMD on the market.. but if that prototype can run 8GHZ without overclocking... :dizzy2:


now im expecting almost magical things from sony..... looking like stuff from the movies...

 

Something tells me Sony is promising a bit more than they can reasonably deliver.

 

i bet they will come up with yet another brilliant extra that nobody really needs (kinda like "omg movie playback in a three inch screen").

yeah im with Seishin on this i want to see were it leads...but dang the Ps3 looks pathitic i mean what do they want you to do accidentally think its a microwave or something to that point sorry had to bum of on you SteamedRice but the design of the ps3 sucks and all the add ons what are you going to need them for when your playin a game oh please insert memory stick to continue
