FLCL Saw my first episode...

So, BMS, do you understand now? Why fans rave about FLCL? oh wait, you need to see the whole series for that, or maybe not, it depends on the case! The puns are so quick in the manga scene, everything is so tight in the episodes, and the awesome music... Ahh... FLCL, how we love thee...

great! So, does it make you want to watch more? You must, and when you do, let us all know what you think of it. And while I'm on it, what does everyone else think of this series? All four people that have posted in this forum. Only 2 threads? kinda dead in here :sad: I guess I'll let my tinny voice be heard. Should be obvious from my avatar I think FLCL is the best!!

 

It was all too short. See my lament about the lack of a movie I loved how clean the drawings were, and how smooth the animation was. And the music was good too.

I found the strangeness a good thing!!

I've watched the 1st episode twice since I got FLCL and I just can't be bothered going past that point.

The way Gainax have become I don't know if I can be arsed watching their stuff anymore, Mahoromatic was dreadful generic trash. Got as far as episode 6 of that, puked, and sold the CD's on ebay.

Maybe someday I'll finish FLCL but I don't know when that'll happen...

 

Yet surely you cannot call FLCL generic.. But yeah, what to make of Mahoromatic. What's with this sudden pandering and fanservice? Oh wait, Gainax has been doing that forever..

I (and I don't think I'm alone in it) can emphatically say you are missing out if you skip FLCL. There! here's your chance to watch it (or pretend to) and say it still sucks and make it look like you have better taste than me!

And I for one am getting tired of the word 'ar$e.' Not too many people know, but it is the actual nasty word, with a$s being the euphamism. Yes, really. Ar$e was considered bad enough, that people started using another word for donkey as a euphamism. We've got it all backwards..

 

i started watching it today.. i only have 1 - 5, don't have the last ep
it's really cool.. but sooo confusing haven't a clue wqhat is happening

I'm just after watching the first two episodes... i'd sure love to know what those folks at Gainax were on when they made FLCL

Poor dude, dam that's gotta hurt each time one of those things come spewing out.

 

hehe those things spewingis so funny/amazing.. something you'd never expect. by the end of the first ep whenhis horn was gone, I thought the series would settle down and become a litte more normal. the hole horns thing was just too weird.

Imagine my dismay when early in the next ep Haruko annnounces "and now you're growing another one!" (or was it Naota saying now he's growing another one?) oh well, wiht that, I decided to sit back and enjoy the ride. It was only 6 eps after all, so I wouldn't be wasting ytoo much time on it.

By the end of episode 2 however, I had been hooked by the Pillows songs in the soundtrack and was loving the story. Bout then, I started regretting that it 2was only 6 eps, ironic since the fact that it was only 6 was what convinced me to watch it in the first place.

How I wish there was more..

I have taken heed of your Pillows blagging MO, and they are a staple on my download list. They also have their own folder in my music directory.

 

I remember the first time I watched it and well it was hillarious especially to see Haruko going around on her motorcycle (which I forget what it was actually called even though it's part of her nick). And then suddenly a robot pops out of his head!!! I was sort of freaked out, but I watched it shortly after Lain, so it wasn't too freaky But I really got hooked on the story and the music too, and I looked foward to the "robot popping out of peoples heads" scenes because that was the part where they played Advice by The Pillows I got into it because everyone at Mangatoanime was going insane over it and I'm glad that they all told me about it ^^
