Shingetsutan Tsukihime ~ True Lunar Chronicle Tsukihime

has anyone seen this yet? the first episode came out, and all I can say it's very interesting. the animation is wonderful and the story is captivating. I wouldn't have seen it, if Suzu hadn't mentioned it to me that it was coming to viewers in Japan in October. This boy named Shiki Tohno was in an accident. After this accident, Shiki changed, he became weaker and could see things. So so far, there's a lot of mystery, there are people running around with special powers at night and vampires feeding on humans.
anyways it seems this site explains the anime bettter: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/anime/topics/tsukihime/

and here are some screen caps I took of the first episode:

Shingetsutan Tsukihime Prologue & Artbook History

There's also this prologue which is very helpful to see after watching the first episode.

In this Prologue, we learn that the story is quite extensive and thought-out. A long time ago, the people of the Moon came to Earth. These people were a fairy people. It seems that these fairies fed on blood. Human blood is the most poisonous, especially for fairies. Once they take in human blood, they become demons. The story also involves a princess of the moon, who dreams. Since she was born with the 'best' body, and had certain powers, sorcerers placed a sleep upon her until she reached physical and magical maturity. The White Princess belongs to the ancient Moon people called the 'Shinso'. The Shinso used her to hunt demons/kill vampires. This is when she was pure. It so came to pass that a human fell in love with her. Some how, its uncertain yet, but his blood splattered on her dress, or perhaps she, through loving him, took his blood. (you can see this in the screen cap). So, the perfect, pure Moon Princess of the Shinso people became impure. Hundreds of years passed. She doesnt understand the meaning of life etc. She is waiting for a miracle.

We then move on to Shiki Tohno, the boy who almost died. He meets the sorceress Aozaki Aoko when a boy, who helps him. 8 years pass, he begins to truly hate himself. Shingetsutan Tsukihime is the story of Shiki and Arc, who is the ancient Moon Princess of the Shinso people.

    screen cap time!

I haven't gotten around to actually watching the first episode yet (but I did scope a bit of the 00 episode). But, FYI, did you know this game is based off an H-game?

However, Saikou does say it's a pretty good series, and they don't work with just any series. They've done work with GetBackers and Wolf's Rain and E's Otherwise, so I think they're pretty dependable on that kinda thing.

I will check out the whole episode, probably tonight though.

I've seen episode 00 dunno if its supposed to be the first episode or not, but I am still download episode 01. You said there is a lot of mystery? Yup, I agree, but still, I just saw one episode, which was like 5 minutes or something. It was called Tsukihime Prologue though.

The Prologue was my second post in this thread. I didnt actually see it until after I saw episode 1. Episode 1 is out right now. the Prologue was only 5 minutes, yes and I think it was just a teaser eh? that bit of animation. but it did tell us a bit about how he feels and a foreshadowing of the second episode. and I didn't know there was a game.

edit: I see the confusion, I got "Shingetsutan Tsukihime Prologue & Artbook History" from A-E & Keep subbers so I was able to read the history, view some artwork, and after watch the 4 minute prologue, while all the other subbers have only the 4 minute prologue.

Hey Episodes 3 it out! The plot is getting more dark and interesting! More terms to jot down!
Shino and Shinto: two types of vampires

    and
Shiki can see red lines in which if he cutes through them he can destory or even kill instantly. Why is he able to see those lines?

Eto does anyone know what a grim reaper is? Shinegami? I heard that word from Full Moon Wo sagashite and I wonder if it means the same?

a grim reaper is one who comes for you before/during/after death and brings you to your eternal 'home'.

I gathered the Moon people were 'Shinso' but another sub called them 'True Bloods' and I'm not sure about the other type, ANBU called them the 'Turned'.

Shiki can see the life/death lines of objects, or he has the 'eyes of death', each object is created/born with death so Shiki can see this. We don't know yet why he has this ability, other than that he saw these after his accident. We still don't know what this accident is. Maybe it relates to his early child-hood memory of his sister crying.

Thanks for the Screen caps Sera, I've watched up to episode 3 and I can't wait for 4 to come.

I wonder why they never actually show him kill another person using "the eyes" Though, I don't think I'd want to see that because it would probably make me sick...

    Episodes 4 out by Aone

They are basically two types of vampires. I think both subs makes sense. True vampires are the Shinso. They don't need to drink blood, they can though for pleasure. If they do drink then their victims become (turn into) shito(turned).

LOL I mixed up some japanese terms: like Shinto and shito. two entirly different things.

    Shinto---> Shinto monks, religion.

    Shito---->you know lol.

The History Art Book helped that came with one copy of the Prologue,
Arc says she DESPISES drinking blood, perhaps that of humans. Of course this is somehow related to something that happened in her past. Arc is a very mysterious woman, and
the History Art Book could have ruined it for me, but it can't because it's too bloody confusing. and I KNOW all unanswered questions will be answered or most at the end of this cool anime.

is anyone else finding this horribly confusing and so heart- stopping? I mean I just saw episode 8 and I'm like..
What happened to Akiha? What's with the bright red hair? who is Roa/Lore? Who are the Tohno Family? Who is that weird bandaged guy, it must be Roa? or is it Shiki's Dad? :p Why did Ciel take off? I don't like her at all! Is Shiki going to die???
well. you can see, I need to view episode 9.

Episode 10 is going to be released today and I can't wait.. I did hear it was 12-13 episodes long and I hope not. I get the feeling if it ends so shortly, when I'm done watching I'll just be more confused!

This anime is actually based on the HENTAI game! @_@! and one more thing there is an character that won't be introduced in the anime. Poor little thing!
I'll attach an SD picture of that character!

    Arcueid, Arcueid..

Did anybody watch the last episode?

I think it was neat how everybody but Shiki forgot about Ciel-sempai. However, The ending was rather cliche, I don't understand why Arcueid couldn't have just healed herself like she did the last time she got killed (i.e Episode 1). She just dissapeared like that, Am I the only one who thinks it was kind of corny for a show like Shingetsutan Tsukihime?

ya I saw it all now. I'm sad for Shiki.

Well. I'm sad for Shiki. It seemed he finally found love and not just umm the emotional kind if you know what I mean :p anyways. She disappeared like a jedi.. >< then she reappears and disappears lol. plus everyone at school didn't even know Ciel to begin with. the first or second ep I recall they going huh? Ciel? then suddenly they know her..Ciel looked cool with her coat off eh? Well. byebye Arcueid. You better return someday. Anyways, Aozaki is the coolest! She didn't even age eh?

I'm inspired to draw some Tsukihime related artwork.. I may umm.. unless I get lazy about it.

btw lol, The Shiki is a cool Japanese restaurant in London Ontario.

I kinda thought it went downhill in the middle...I was waiting for something badass to happen ahha. I even got bored of it. But then ep 11+12 were much better but they rushed it.
Here is something you might find interesting: (Kinda a spoiler so just highlight to read  - dunno how to do that spoiler thing lol)

In the game, Shiki actually kisses her before she dies. She asks him as her final wish, but her lips were cold, and then she fades away. The last scene in the anime wasn't a hallucination. She did die, but Roa's death gave her enough power to revive herself.. although barely. Her blood thirst is uncontrolable, so she seals herself on the moon...forever. She didn't want to hurt Shiki or anyone else. It's sad they didn't explain it in the anime. T_T
