I still don't get what the moon has to do with her . And would the anime besically is related to Arcueid and not Shiki? /*Moon Princess*/

I am still clueless a bit..

In the PC games, there's an actual character by the name Tsukihime. That would probably pertain more to the title than anything.

The stuff you see in the anime mostly pertains to events focusing on Shiki and Arc. The only thing is...you'd probably have to play the game to find the whole story out, unless they plan on making another series.

    Oh, again...it's a Hentai Game...^_^

I was a bit late watching this series, so this is quite a bump.

Finally got around to it last week and I'm glad I did. Like so many good shows, it was over too fast (thanks to me watching it in two sittings. I just couldn't stop)

I had a constant lump in my throat from episode 8 on, mostly out of dread. I was pretty down for 24 hours or so after I finished. It helped to dive into the backstory and read as much as I could about the history, and about the original game.

I'll have to try out Melty Blood as it is likely the closest thing we will get to a sequel. (MB is a fighting game that takes off from one of the original game's "good" endings as opposed to the "true" ending portrayed in the anime.

The original game itself sounds like quite a downer :D The true endings aren't the good ones, and even some of the good ones end up with a major player dead.

Anyway, with Melty Blood I'll just ignore the last episode for a while and pretend things happened another way, as I beat up on maids and immortal nuns.

I really should have gotten to this sooner.. thanks Arcueid (our Arcueid) for telling me about this months ago, it finally paid off.

Excellent show, great ending, all that

Okay this website helped me out with some unexplained things. Since I don't have the manga or played any of the games. http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/r/w/rwa118/tsukihime/story/plus.html

Shiki is of the Nanaya family, a family of demon and vampire slayers. Since he was trained as a slayer(though has no memory of it), he has murderous instincts towards monsters and vampires; This is why he killed Arcueid at the beginning of the anime.
Ciel was Roa's 17th incarnation. Remember Roa goes after people with powerful demon blood in them to use as hosts. After Arcueid killed Ciel as Roa, Ciel somehow came back, there are many assumptions as to the 'why'. But like Arcueid, who sleeps and then awakens to kill Roa many times, Ciel may have been reborn to take on the same task, to kill Roa. This may have been because she was more powerful than other hosts, I do not know. As well, the Church tried killing her many times until they finally commissioned her to hunt monsters.
Question: If Arcueid had already killed Roa, the man she had turned into a 'Turned' why does he keep coming back? If Ciel kills Roa, then she can be free of the task to kill him, but Arcueid already tried and he's still alive.

    Okay people, seriously: SPOILERS AHEAD

    .

Stop reading if you haven't seen the whole series.

    .

    .

THe has the power of reincarnation. It's said that such a thing runs contrary to the Church's belifes, and so they do not consider him one of the dead apostles.) Thus Ciel and Arc can't really kill him permanently.

While Shiki/Roa's power of discernment lets him kill things, Shiki's power lets him erase things from existence (side effect: they die). I guess by 'erasing' Roa, Shiki was ablke to prevent him from ever coming back..

It gets rather confusing for me. Shiki can kill Arc, though not permanently. Roa however seems to be able to kill her permanently (or so it seems!). On the other hand, Arc and Ciel can't kill Roa permanently, but in this case, Shiki can. hurm..

I guess I'll just have to satisfy myself with this: Roa can reincarnate after Arc kills him, but Shiki erased him by puncturing his 'Death Dot,' which I assume he did not do when he chopped Arcueid up.

    but
    Ciel killed Roa. Episode 12:
    Shiki: Senpai
Ciel: I was the one who killed Roa.
No matter what the reason, it's a sin to take someone's life.
    Shiki: That's just an excuse.
Ciel: Who cares if it's an excuse.
It's better than you hurting someone.
And also, I told you before.
I just can't refuse.. helping someone such as you.

I remember that of course. Still, it was Shiki who positioned the knife at the "death dot." Ciel appears only to have pushed the knife it (with Shiki still holding it no less). That's barely enough for her to be able to claim she did it, to save him from the sinfulness of it, but she could not have done it without Shiki's sight.

I think my earlier reasoning still stands, if one just ignores exactly which one of them gave the knife the final push.

Oh ya. silly me. still its a bit odd.
I guess Arcueid can live in peace alone on the Moon and Ciel can live a life now and/or die.

still mad Roa was able to 'kill' Arcueid. but she was still recovering from being chopped into 17.

Unfortunately, I've never seen the Tsukihime anime. :(

I've never played the relevant video games. :( :(

And I really want to hear Akiha's voice.

However, I already like Akiha very much. She's cute, but rather morose. I really like her eyes. For that reason, I have decided to give her the epithet glaucopis (with grayish blue eyes... it can also refer to owl eyes or terrible eyes).

Moreover, I gave her the epithet Autumnifolia, meaning of an autumn-leaf.

Even more of a bump! \o/

Anyway, I've started watching Tsukihime the other day. I've watched up to I think the 7th episode. I lost track somewhere along the way. Wasn't easy to skip all those spoilers... :p

Have to say I like it. It's very different from what I expected, though it's proven quite interesting. I can't wait to see how it'll turn out. :)

Can't say I have a preference for any character, they're all looking and seeming really great. In-depth, interesting, not to mention good-looking. ;)

IN any case, although I'll wait until I've had a chance to finish watching it to give a definate opinion, I'm definately saying now it's something great. I'm impressed.
