No they should not be aloud period.

First off you cant even work a full time/ part time job until your 16. Oh you can get some jobs but none that will be able to pay for gas, car, liscens, insurance.. Driving COST money.. and kids under 16 DONT HAVE MONEY!

So frankly unless you want to drive in a back field or something.. wait until your 16. everyone has to do it.. so stop complaining about it.

Hmmm. I am under 16, so I don't know. But I really wish I could. So many places I want to go, and my parents always says:
"We're exhausted" or "I'm too busy."

Actually in New Jersey you can't get your liscence until your 18 but that is because the roads in New Jersey is very crowded essipily for cars

frankly the answer is no. it is not logical to put more people on the road when there is to many already. Also, it is true, most kids could not drive well enough. There is also the issue of not being able to reach the pedals and still see the hood. It is just a bad idea, and that comes straight from the mouth of a 14 year old.

I fail to see the logic in this.

Anyway, no, people under 16 shouldnt drive, and the reasons I'd give have already been stated.

Being from NJ, I am in favor of the older driver's age. Kids today are in too much of a hurry to grow up. Trust me, there is nothing great about having a drivers license. It comes with a lot of responsibility that a youngster doesnt need on top of an already hectic life.

You kids should be concentrating on school, not where you want to drive too.

Driving costs a lot of money. Unless all you under 16 folks out there are working 40+ hours a week on top of your school schedule, it aint going to happen.

    Just my opinion--dont be mad.

Here in Bahrain, they are thinking of having only 21+ year olds get the driving license. So I hope I get my license, before they do that!! :dizzy2:

So it looks there's an almost unanimous decision that kids under 16 SHOULDN'T drive. But I'm surprised by how many people think that kids between 16 and 18 shouldn't be allowed to drive either. I think that 16 is the best age for driving to start. I think that it's essential that kids still be living with their parents with they start training, and if you up the age to 18 that wouldn't happen very often. Plus, so many new responsibilities are shovelled onto kids-turned-adults when you turn 18 that another major one like driving would just add to the pressure.

    Other thoughts?

Theres no need for young teenagers to actually need to drive. Thats why they have buses yes people buses they are like cars but instead you dont have to do the driving. only a dollar 50 in my place. ( but i go for free when it comes to school)
anywayz....young teens could just ask thier mom or dad to drive them where ever we shouldnt bring hazards to society just because kids are driving cars

My law teacher said it best:
You little retards sit behind the wheel tuning up your radio
and drinking whatever-the-hell, while zooming you as*es
down the road in a thousand+ pound bomb and expect
things to go cheery. If it were up to me, you wouldn't be able
to drive till you got a degree.

Needless to say, I do not have a degree, yet I agree. There are way too many people on the road who deserve to be shot. The road is very dangerous, even if you are paying attention.
