    Well Kakashi is not from the Uchida clan, but he has the Sharingan in his right eye. Anyone can tell us or predict why?

    I have no clue, maybe it is a mutation? :sweat:

    I just always assumed other families could possess the eye(s) as well, but not to the full extent of the Uchiha clan. or else Kakashi is a distant cousin to the family. Remember that Kakashi and Sasuke have similarities, that's why he trained Sasuke. as well as he wasn't good enough to train Naruto :p

    sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not really a spoiler either...

    Kakashi's sharingan comes from a surgery procedure. the scar over that eye was from them cutting it open and putting it in O____o;;

    I started reading the manga from v13, so I would be so disappointed if the anime decided not to include this fact. It makes me wonder what else they did not include *__*;;;;

    that's really stupid. Kakashi should have been happy with the way he was. the loser.(my opinion)
    I just picked up on the manga where I couldnt wait for the anime any more so didn't read the first few volumes.

    I didn't know that, I should read over the beginning of the manga. I did the same thing as Seraphim..

    I wonder who's eye it was, did they explain that in the manga?

    OMG, I am surprised at people's lack of imagination here. As far as I know, the origin of Kakashi's eye was never mentioned apart from the fact that he wasn't born with it unless I got a really bad memory. And if I must speculate, he probably lost his eye in a battle and then got a Sharingan replacement eye in surgery afterwards. You so don't get a big vertical scar like that in surgery. This probably meant that he lost his eye when the Uchida clan was killed off by you know who (for those who read the manga) and there's a lot of spare body parts around. Kakashi could even be using Sasuke father's eye which could be why he's training and looking after Sasuke as a form of repayment. Anyway, there is nothing wrong with a bit of mystery behind it anyway, makes Kakashi that much more mysterious and I got a feeling there will be more about it later.

    I didn't care much about Kakashi to even waste my time speculating his eye. but for the sake of the thread, ya I didnt think that scar would come from surgery. Since their medicinal arts seem very advanced.

    well, Kakahsi can be related to the Uchiha clan, but I don't think he was born with the eye. For one, it tires him out to use it, and Sasuke and Itachi haven't shown any signs of being exhuasted from the eye yet. Also, Kakashi can't change his pupil back to normal, he has to cover it up. And wouldn't he have had it by the time he graduated from the Academy? I mean, if he bacme a chuunin at age 6, I think he would have had the sharingan...

    well, it is odd eh? I forgot the fact Kakashi may cover his eye due to not being able to change it back to normal. other's with the eyes can.. why can't he? maybe its too scientific for myself. Anyways, great ninjas don't need the eye to become chunin at an early age.. but it still leaves me the question, Kakashi doesnt need his eye to fight, so why did he use it with Zabuza? just for the sake of us viewers? It's a great bonus I know.. too many buts. Well hopefully they will let us know more about this eye sometime later on in the manga.

    Zabuza was no weakling! He was strong! Without the eye, I'd think Kakashi wouldn't have defeated him...but that's what I think, I dunno?? :glazed: He used the sharingan to Hypnotize and scare Zabuza, and copy his techniques.

    Really guys?

    *** Giant Spoiler ***

    Right the story of the Sharingan and Kakashi first off he graduatted at the age of six he became a member of ANBU at about 12 and later on became a Squad leader in ANBU. Now Kakashi's friend that he talks about who died this person was in Kakashi's squad and coinsidently he was Uchiha (bare in mind Kakashi is about 18 at this time) and we all know what happend to the Uchiha clan dont we. Not long after Itachi's massicur Kakashi got the Sharingan surgicly put in him and it also sealed in him this is part of the reason why Kakashi's Sharingan cant change back also due to lack of Uchiha blood in him which also means that Kakashi can't become a Genius of the Sharingan. That some it up for u? *Open to critisizm*

    ...!!
    Curiousity owns me ... says spoiler and i can't stand _not_ to read it >_<
    that's kinda cool..

    Hm.. I had a theory a while ago.. About Kakashi making a some kind of deal with Itachi before he *Spoiler* killed off the Uchiha clan.. and hrm.. got the eye.. and maybe his 'precious friend' died because of that (discovered Itachi when talking to Kakashi afterwards and got killed by him or something like that ..)

    Sasuke never REALLY showed fatigue after using the Sharingan because he wasn't using intensive chakra by ALSO doing numerous handseals like Kakashi did in his fight with Zabuza.

    Remember, Kakashi not only "absorbed" the method to doing water clones, but he also learned how to water-walk (as part of my own speculation) and had to do the dozens of handseals to do the Water Dragon Explosion.

    THEN he had to do the Tsunami...thing that knocked out Zabuza, too. Simply said, he drained a lot of energy.

    Another reason that Kakashi might get fatigued is because the Sharingan is always on. Him not being able to switch it off, he has no choice but to constantly invoke the Sharingan in every movement. It's kinda like...feeding a capacitor electricity, when it's already capped. Over-filling it just fatigues the battery.

    Also, Kakashi admitted to himself (he did, didn't he!?) that his Chakra reserves are not as high as Sasuke's. Which stands to reason that he's probably nowhere near Itachi's level of Chakra buildup.

    But, those are just my theories.

    My speculation as to how Kakashi cannot turn off the Sharingan is simply because it was on Sharingan when it was surgically inserted, and since Kakashi was not the one who turned it on, he couldn't possibly know the chakra procedure to turn it off. Thus, he hides it both as a secret as to hide what happened to him from others. He probably also wanted to carry on what the Uchiha clan stood for, for his 'friend'.

    As for graduating without the Sharingan, no doubt he was formidable even without it. He is excellent in hand-to-hand combat, as can be shown in the first test and even against Zabuza, who seemed superior as he had better adjustment to the Mist Concealment. This is more shown in the second than in the first. He also had Lightning Edge/Chidori, which, though not as potentially powerful as Sharingan, is an extremely powerful 'original' move. Compare it to Blazing Fireball of Sasuke - which one's more powerful?

    As to Kakashi using the eye against Zabuza, that is probably because, in one purpose, Kakashi knew Zabuza to be a formidable foe, and Zabuza knew Kakashi to be the copy ninja, thus he wished to learn tricks from Zabuza - after all, he knows he won't know a trick or two of Zabuza's, simply because he hasn't encountered him before. Also, the Sharingan gives a level of enhanced eyesight/insight - not as much as the Byakugan, but it did aid Sasuke in pinpointing Haku. Then again, that may be because of Uchiha blood, but probably more from the eye.

    I believe the Tsunami attack was called Grand Waterfall. I'd have to check back on that.

    Despite all that... you know, it's not easy to just pop someone else's eye in your socket. Maybe with all that ninjustu... but still, you don't want the eye of a dead Uchiha- disease! And I should hope it wasn't the eye of a living one. o_o

    It would have to be a still-living one for the Sharingan to still be activated in the eye was removed. To be killed usually also means the stop of the chakra flow, whether it be the lack of spirit energy or just the overusage of chakra. Either way, it would result in the Sharingan losing energy due to the upkeep that cannot be paid. Disease and insertion would probably be of little consequence - if a problem at all. They did have master healers like Tsunade back then (assuming that this was before Tsunade contracted hemophobia,) and problem several who, though less skilled, could still perform those tasks.
