Trigun Storyline

I just recently started watching Trigun. I've only seen a few eps, and it's starting to grow on me. I tend to watch it since it comes on before Inuyasha and CB; so I was wondering 'cause I'm a little lost:

Could someone give a description of the series storyline/plot? I'm a little confused as to the purpose/goal of the whole story and that kind of stuff.. I don't care about spoilers or anything, so if you want to go into detail and plot spoilers for later in the series, I don't mind.

Well, Trigun's 'actual' story is introduced in the episode 'Diablo' which is about episode 12. All the episodes before that are simply character development and simply making viewers feel adapted to them, plus theres the occassional classic comical moments, the story gets more serious later on. The $6 billion reward on his head is actually not very revelent to Vash as you shall see later on. Keep watching to understand the Vash's true motive. A great Anime

i think its great so far vash is really cool:shy3: and he's super cute. he reminds me of Bit cloud. that chick meryl reminds me of videl with her atittude lol. but we all know deep down she has a huge crush on vash but hey how could you not hes so cute(speaking from a girls point of view).:shy3: :shy3:. milly reminds me of mehoshi shes so clumsy but has stlye pretty much all the charaters remind me of someone else lol. i love vashes gun its slamin. thats a lot of money to have on one head (6 millon duoble dollors).whos wolfwood? dose any one have a picture of him or her ?

I'm assuming you've watched the show because you can name three of the characters, don't you know Wolfwood? Nicholas D. Wolfwood??? first appeared on eps 9 (Murder Machines) he was that priest guy dressed in a black suit and often carries bent cigs. He has that massive cross gun called the Cross Punisher. He's like the coolest character other than Vash.

 

Gonna' make me figure it out for myself, huh?

Ok, well, I was watching again last night and have another question:

Who is "she"? Obviously he's a bad-*** when it comes to guns (got that much figured out after my third time to watch the show) and has hurt/killed someone (or more) and "she" doesn't like it... right.. Ok, so he accidentally shoots someone possibly fatally and he freaks out and says he can't take another life because it would "make her sad."

So, who's the mystery chick that's got him on a leash. I was starting to think the pixie-cut chick that follows him around was gonna turn into his "romantic interest".. Don't tell me she's gonna wind up being another Faye. :dizzy2:

 

Man you sure like spoilers. Well, I'm just gonna tell you coz its gonna be kinda hard to hide it. Ok, you've probably seen him say the word 'Rem'. Ok, Rem is that 'she' you're talking about. She's in fact some 10 - 15 years older than Vash. But she looked after him when he was a kid on a PLANT spaceship.....which collided.......on......to.....earth. (Enough said for now )

PS: the reason why Vash is wearing a red overcoat is because of 'Rem' as well (all will be explained on episode 17)

Spoilers... Ok, I'm just gonna pound you with everything I know that'll make you cry and not watch Trigun anymore

Ok, here we go

1. Vash is a PLANT (an artificial being which is in many ways 'superior' to other races such as humans)

2. Vash as a brother called 'Knives' (also a PLAN) who has the same gun (but black coloured) and skills as Vash. Believes oppositely to Vash. Hates being sentimental and 'not killing people'

3. Wolfwood dies later after an intense gun fight with on of the gun ho guns he knew when he was a child

4. Gun Ho Guns include: 'Monev the Gale', 'Gray the ninelives', 'Dominique the cyclops', 'Zazie the beast', 'Leonof the puppetmaster', 'Hoppered the Gauntlet', 'Rai-Dei the blade', 'E.G Mine', 'Caine the longshot', 'Midvalley the Hornfreak', 'Chapel', and the leader himself - 'Legato Bluesummers'. All in which are told to kill Vash the stampede. Btw Legato works under Knives.

5. Milly and Wolfwood are lovers.

6. Vash's left arm as you have probably already noticed is artificial. His real arm was blown away by Knives.

7. The incident in July was Vash's 'angel arm' which is basically a massive pulse cannon when his gun and his right arm blend into each other, and possibly the answer to what 'Trigun' means. Knives also has an angel arm.

8. Vash shoots Legato in the head which was his first intentional but not so-intentional kill of the series.

You're right. I prefer to know the spoilers. It doesn't bother me in the least to hear spoilers because I prefer to know the story and THEN be able to enjoy the art of it w/out having to try to "get it" while watching. That way I can pay more attention to details and not be confused.

A plant, huh? Crazy beans! I was going to ask about his arm deal, too, but I was taking it a little at a time. It makes more sense now.

OK, yet another question: Now explain the two chics following him around all the time, and what happens to them. Is one of them "Milly"?

 

Well if you like spoilers then...glad you find my info useful. The insurance girls - 'Milly' the big tall, giant-looking one and 'Meryl' Short, short haired, wearing white cape one, they don't die... doh! (If you havn't already noticed, they follow vash to make sure he doesn't make anymore destruction later on following the 'July' incident. But after a while Meryl uses the 'Have to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble' excuse to follow him because she is fond in him and so that she doesn't need to go home to her office and do paper work). Milly as I already said has a crush on Wolfwood. Vash sees a bit of 'Rem' inside Meryl, you know... being all caring and understanding about things. No one gets married. No one kisses and strips each other on the bed. Vash and Meryl's relationship does not really show publically.

Another spoiler: I dunno if any of you two know about his artificial left arm but it's in fact a hidden machine gun. He gets an upgrade for that gun later on.

Hey, tell me which episodes you two are on because I'm quite happy to give you two more spoilers (that's if you want them).

 

Well, I just see in on CN, so according to its schedule..

"QuickDraw" should be on tonight (Tues)

.. "Escape from Pain" (Wed)

and "Diablo", Thurs.

 

Is Trigun on CN? Is it the dubbed version and editted? because the subbed version in my opinion is so much better. Are you in UK or America becasue if you're in UK I can tell my friend that its on CN and he relly wants to watch it. (tell me the time it's on as well) Anyway Diablo is where the story starts.

 

Yeah, it's on Cartoon Network. That's where I first saw it a few weeks ago. It comes on right before Inuyasha and I always record that, so I was waiting for Inu to come on and got in the habit of catching the last bits of Trigun.. Then I wanted to watch more, so I started to watch the show to see what it's about sometime last week, and here I am! Curious as can be.

Anyway, it's advertised (I live in the US, by the way) to come on at 12 am standard pacific time, so that makes it 11 pm for me (central). It's on Mon-Thurs, just like Inuyasha. It's dubbed.. but I don't know what the extent to the editing is on it (since I've never seen the original or subbed).

Anyway, I was watching the preview of the next ep after the last one went off last night, and after I got to see who the priest was you were talking about (wolfwood) I noticed what you were also talking about w/ him and Milly somewhat in the ep that's supposed to come on tonight (where they appear as a couple, and she "appears" to be pregnant, only it's obviously some kind of stow-a-way).. Well, that one's coming on tonight. It looks cute.

So, the series really gets started tomorrow, then, huh?:dizzy2: Great.

haha..this post is so filled with spoiliers its amazing. every secret in the series is exposed. but watch the anime neways. its well worth the watch. ive seen a large majority of it (missing the first few) and its great. whoot!

 

Maybe I should have posted ~spoilers~ in the thread title.. Oh well.. I think there's enough warnings posted in the exposing posts to let anyone who doesn't know it that they are there..

Don't feel out of place in the conversation I felt out of place w/ the whols series (which is why I started the thread) but now I really understand a whole lot more.

Diablo turned out pretty cool. I watched thru this Wed. night, but I missed last night's ep. I think the priest was supposed to be coming back in it, though. I'm really beginning to like him.

And I'm definitely seeing what was said earlier about the series really taking off after ep 12. I think I like where it's going now.

I saw a really cool Trigun shirt the other day at SunCoast, too. I'm glad anime is really starting to become so popular, now.

 

SPOILERS

I thought Vash was supposed to be an angel? It never comes right out and says it, but I'm pretty sure it's implied. First of all he has the "Angel Arm", which fuses his gun to his hand, and also, in the episode "Rem Saverem" When Vash flashes back to his past on the SEED ship, Rem says something about how they are angels. Vash wears a red coat because Rem's favorite color was red.

 

yeah it just sucks that they are restarting it two episodes after paradise i think. and then moving it to 1:00
