    SPOILERS
Umm...Vash is a plant. I don't know what you meant by "angel" but if you're talking like up in heaven angel then no. Vash and Knives are both plants. Rem called them angels as like a figure of speech and because their birth was kind of miraculous. Red geraniums were Rem's favorite flowers. They symbolize determination which sort of fits with Vash's philosophy.

I'm pretty sure Vash (and Knives) are plants, jus like those other people in those containers with life support liquid or watever it is. Am I revealing too much here? *Oops*

The other people on life support are just regular humans. Vash and Knives are the only plants.

Well whatever then... I think any theory is valid... But I think they are implying that Vash and Knives were sent by divine powers to protect the humans and ensure that they survive, and make it to their destination without conflict or error, and then to protect the human race, but then Knives grows to hate the human race because of all the people harrassing him, calling him a freak. So yeah, if you think deeply it makes sense. But any theory is valid.

And about the red geranium, well yeah I know.. but I haven't seen the series in a while and I forgot :p
